I'd be a little annoyed too, but aside from it taking a couple days longer to get the cam (it's winter anyway) I don't really see what the big deal is. It's not like LE is going to screw you over, he does have a good reputation if nothing else and he's way too much in the spotlight to do something like that without repercussions.

I'm not at all worried about him, it's just as easy to screw some one thru pay pal.

Who knows who else sees it before he does.

If I remember correctly, the last time I bought a money order/cashier's check they print the info of the recipient on the check. It's certainly not any worse than mailing in a personal check to pay a monthly bill of some sort, which just about everyone has done at one point or another.

I always sent LE a Postal MO. Go to Post Office monday buy MO, send it to him signature required. It will cost you a couple bucks for MO and sending it.

LE doesn't do Pay Pal because he has had problems with it in the past. If I remember they froze his account for some reason and he couldn't pay the bills. I had them do that to me once I sold an item on ebay and they froze my account until buyer recieved item and left feedback! He had his part I couldn't touch the funds!

a cutomer and or paypal burnt him a while back. so he dosnt use it. jderry, tell him sniper sent you and that you dont feel comfortable mailing money and need the part quicker than that, see if it helps. i know he still has a paypal acount. if he dont do paypal then i would just deal with A.I. then.

just go get a certified money order at your bank if your that worried about it. DO NOT SEND CASH>!!!!!!!! just send the money order and you will be fine.. if oyu go with a bank money order you are protected more then if you go with a postal because for some reason if it gets lost in the mail you cannot cancel the check near as fast with a postal one.

AI wants $450.00 for just a cam, LE wants $575 for Cam, valve springs, locks, and retainers. I am just going to go up to the bank tomorrow, get a certified check there and mail it first class.

I think banks are closed tomorrow, but going with Lloyd is a good idea.

wow... AI was NOT that expensive for me when i broke down everything they sold me in the kit. Not even close.

AI is higher quality bar none, I have had both (so not speaking out of my a$$). The cams are all cam doctored to a specific grind and they have the correct oil pump drive gear on the end plus the core they use is of a better material.

Lloyd and Comp Cams used to have a billet style gear that had trouble meshing with the cast oil gear (See Brian's oil gear thread). Now Lloyd uses a cast gear, so you'll be ok. AI probably is a little higher quality, but it's just whether or not you want to spent the money for your application.

I sent Lloyd a money order. I want in a rush so it wasn't an issue.

Yes Lloyd had paypal double dip his account on $1200.

My cam was $300 shipped compared to AI's $415 shipped. Plus AI said they wouldn't have any in stock for 3 weeks.
