  • yeah im not selling its just that the basic s60 costs about $3500 shipped (not worth it to me) and rebuilding a 10 bolt costs... Well if it costs anything at all, its not worth it either Gonna have to break out the craigslisting skills i guess.

    • Have you thought about just doing an 8.8 swap? I'm going go be doing the swap probably over the winter. It can be done for cheap and is way more durable than the 10 bolt

      • I'm hoping when my lets go it's close to this time of year so i can just grab a built setup with my x-mas bonus and be back on the road asap. I know it's a ticking time bomb but i'm just going to leave it alone until it goes, for all i know it might be a factory freak that lasts a long time.

        • The weird thing is my gearset still seems to be fine. Its quiet as a church mouse even when likely half the oil has dumped out of it now.

Jeff Farr did that back in the day and from his threads here and helping him with it in person, we kinda decided it wasnt as good of an option as we hoped for and i think he ended up swapping to a 9" anyway because he was too nervous about it coming apart on the big end of the quarter. It did work well while he had it though.

                        • Never saw any mention of that, but a brand new stock housing is a $100 upgrade and so is their fabricated housing. Backbrace would be another $170 and internal gusseting $75. There is a guy at work running one in his turbo drag car and he seems to like it.

Edit: That looks like it was referring to that cheap center section. Upgrading to one of the other centers in the $1000 range would solve that. It looks like either with an iron center and 31 spline Truetrac or any kind of locker you would be at ~$2300.

                          • Isnt that torque arm adapter on the top and bottom going to cause clearance issues? I dont really like the look of that. Seems like a phenomenal price though. I'll research a little more when im on my own computer

                              • Ditch the abs, just extra weight.

Seems like a good deal for what you're getting, and reviews don't seem bad.
