Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I've only had condensation be in issue during or right before torrential rains. Like you are swimming through the air and breathing feels like you're 20 feet underwater humid.
Yesterday i ran the vent tube to my shop vac for about 30 sec and took the car for a cruise. Ran on all 8. Was hiccing-up a bit in the low rpms for 10 miles or so but seems to be improving the more i drive it. So im considering that problem solved. It was extremely humid in this area that night, i recall my windshield fogging up when i rinsed the car off before i left.
Concluded I still have a remaining intermittent problem. The car randomly bucks/backfires under throttle at low RPM... usually when letting the clutch out from a stop. The spark problem with the opti/plug wire was amplifying this but I don't think its the source. And as I recall, it did this exact bucking/backfiring behavior right before the fuel line let go. So i think this is unrelated to the fire. When it is acting like this, I notice my vacuum gauge returns "home" more slowly after a jab of the throttle. I am starting to think i have a broken valve spring or rocker out of adjustment. If not... maybe an IAC or an air/fuel related sensor? Going to start with pulling the valve covers and checking everything there... unfortunately not tonight as both the outdoors and the engine are quite hot.
Damn, sure sucks to have an issue like this. Hope everything gets figured out. What are your plans if you pull the motor?

The good thing is the car is perfectly driveable the way it is. Just need to modify my driving style a bit. It obviously isnt anything serious cause the engine still throws down when you want it to and seems to be the happiest when bangshifted at 6300. if i do decide to overhaul everything ill most likely start building up from the spare 95 engine in my garage. No idea what the plans are yet but if an overhaul happens it needs to make more power than this build .
Im at a tipping point with this car right now. It needs attention, and at the point im at in life im not hugely motivated to invest. Just put a new battery in it last weekend and took it for a ride to find a huge puddle of gear oil under the rear end. I almost took the battery back out and returned it to the store .
Trying to decide between some sort of fix for the rear end (this 10 bolt doesnt owe me a dime, honestly) or just parking the car for next season. Even if i get the rear end taken care of it still needs clutch fluid, the coolant system gone through, and plethora of other minor issues. Also it doesnt want to idle anymore.
Here's my take on it...it's supposed to bring you joy. If you don't feel like working on it...don't. Park it and let it sit until the spring. I also would recommend not making a rash decision and dumping it or anything. Just let it percolate for a while and you'll either find yourself jonesin' to wrench on it and drive it, or not. That'll tell you something
Well the question is do you want to sell it or do you want to hold on to it? If you want to sell it then sell it, but the problem is what will you get for it? No where near what its worth to you, I would guess.
Im not really considering selling it because id lose my ass on it. Space and cash for another project would be nice but i think id regret it. What i am considering is leaving it in storage next year.
I'm right there with you Joel. My car needs some TLC and a bunch of things checked. I only drove it like 3x this year and it has spent most of the year in storage. It may slumber for a while next year too. I debated selling it but getting back behind the wheel reminds me how much fun it is.
Lol thats the other "problem" ... This car is satans chariot, i drive it for all of 10 minutes and Ill probably piss off 5 people with my noise and driving, and narrowly evade getting pulled over at least once

This is why I could never park mine. It's my only entertainment that I really enjoy, and without it I think my summer would be even more boring that it already is.
