Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Yeah....11.5 is REALLY pushing it on pump gas even with FI and aluminum heads. You might find yourself battling inconsistant knock retard tank to tank depending on gas quality.
There are people that have ran over 12 on pump gas with these engine successfully. 11.5 is also the highest it could possibly be. its probably more like 11.3:1, i need to recalculate it sometime. And regarding the gas quality... I have run Sunoco 94 in the car whenever possible anyway.
The manufacturer of my cam recommended extra compression and said that as long as I knew how to tune well I could take 25 thousandths off of my heads to get me to 11.6:1. I took 20 off
The guy i talked to on LS1tech who is running nearly the same cam (his intake duration is 2 degrees bigger) and he has no issues with 11:5.1 compression on his own tune.
word of advice anyone else needing engine work contact dave at engine craft like i said he does good work! contact me for a phone number
joel did u see his computer in his garage lol?
hes a cool ass dude
glad to see everything is going good
yea i saw his computer, it was kinda buried like everything else there! He had QUITE the machine shop in that garage. Ive never seen so many cranks and engine blocks in my life. My LT1 heads looked like a joke compared to all the BB stuff in there! Im very happy with the work he did for what i paid.
OK, made some good progress tonight. Got the oil pan out finally, and the pump spring replaced. Unfortantely I broke the low-oil temp sensor in the process though.
I also got the cam changed out, so I am happy to say that I am officially in the reconstruction stage of things now. Gonna work my tail off on it this weekend, Id like it DONE in 2 weeks or so!
oh yea, updated pictures first thing in the morning.
