Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
because its not really an oil cooler, it uses engine coolant to stablize the oil temperature. It also is very prone to clogging, which can hurt oil pressure and effectiveness of the filter. There is a screen that gets clogged, but when i took mine out it I was surprised to see a straight though design...so maybe someone modified it already???
I'm assuming/hoping you'll be replacing the factory oil cooler with an aftermarket piece?
The LT1 oil cooler is over rated. So many people have had issues. In my opinion its not worth spending cash on one. Especially with long tube headers. You have to get pretty creative and spend some bucks on fancy high quality lines to do it right.
I can't wait to see some more progress on this install. These projects are always frustrating. So far it looks like your doing a really good job.
damn sorry about all the bad luck! i dont know why your fussing with the oil pump, even stock it supplies more than enough pressure to lubricate a heads cam car. im a 10.8:1 355 with forged guts and a big came with some headwork and my oil pump is stock unmodified and ive yet to have a problem with it.
1997 Camaro SS convertible #594-Gone but never forgotten
1995 Camaro Z28 hard top - 14:1 355.

its definitely not a "must have" kind of thing. The people that have done it have had good luck with it and I am the kind of guy that likes having peace of mind with stuff... especially on a 90k mile engine. Im going to have close to 11.5:1 compression assuming my rings are good.

Tuning it with alot of valve overlap will probably be Challenging. When you get it goin we gota meet up at the Lodge In Shelby Twp. I want to see this beast.. Lookin good! Im doin a cam in my green Z Hopefully have it back on the road this weekend.
Yikes....11.5 comp ratio! Hope you are good with your spark maps Joel
LOL. I was going to do 11.8 - 12ish but people talked me out of it. Im all for a learning experience, and I enjoy a car with some "personality." I also have jon as a resource. He's done over 100 hours of tuning and thinks he can get my car 80-90% tuned on his first try with educated estimates before I even start the new setup. We'll see about all that
Ill also reveal that its a 110 LSA cam, so the overlap is dece. Its not a huge duration though. The goal is for it to be a midrange monster.

Yeah....11.5 is REALLY pushing it on pump gas even with FI and aluminum heads. You might find yourself battling inconsistant knock retard tank to tank depending on gas quality.
