I'd say black unless you did the same red as your hood and badges, that would be cool

curious, whats with the red by the headlights?
the headlight frames are anodized red - basically its a rattle-can version of the same color that my hood is. I have multiple odds and ends painted that color such as my LCA's, CAI, STB... just to name a few.

I guess i should have clarified, i would do the subframes in anodized red - start with a silver base coat, and red on top. Im still mixed 50/50 though.

James, yours looks great. I dont know why but it seems like i have so much more crap under my car than you do. also id like to know who did your y-pipe? I want to get one with mandrel bends and a smooth merge like you have. Mine is garbage.

Thanks Joel. I made it myself. That's a Flowmaster 3-into-4" merge pipe. You can buy all the mandrel bends from summit, jegs. Then it's just a process of figuring out where to cut, position and weld them. It takes awhile, but it's fun. I want to redo mine out of stainless but you cannot get that merge in stainless last time I checked......it bums me out cause it's the only part of my exhaust that not stainless.

oil based rustoleum is just as tough. This should last me as long as i have the car.

I hate contrasting colored SFC's on cars. It brings unneeded attention to a generally ugly and dirty part of the car. Keep the flashy stuff for the top of the car, not the bottom unless you're going for a full on polished/plated/painted top to bottom show car.

I agree. Its like painting there stock diff covers red or yellow. Just paint it black so no one sees it...

How will this rustoleum stuff work on axles and such? Any worries about the heat?

Rustoleum seems to be durable in just about any situation. I doubt it would withstand extreme heat, but an axle is definitely not a high heat area. Ive painted the axle on everything ive owned so far and it has held up as long as ive owned it.

Since this thread is back from the dead, I calculated yesterday that i have approximately 40 hours of work before my car is ready for the M&G and track day
