the only reason its taken so long to get this far is because of my limited opportunity to work on it... Ive gotten 6-8 hours every 3-4 weeks.
to get it on the road again i just have to put the rear end back in, can easily get that done in a day. but i also have
-wheel project to finish
-SS spoiler to repair and have painted
-Wideband to install
Im also debating if i want to do a gear swap while the axle is out... so im sorta stalling right now.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; March 23rd, 2008, 09:27 AM.-Joel

Well i didnt even go home this weekend and i am one step closer.
My dad got bored so he decided to tackle some of the job for me. he pulled the axles to check the bearings and install new seals. Bearings looked perfect. He also put the TA cover on with a fresh gasket, all torqued to spec. go dad!
I changed my goals again, so the 3.42 gear stays. (I was going to run bolt-on 12s, but im just too impatient to get a cam and i know it can do it anyway).
Additionally, i need a complete brake-job now. Last weekend I wanted to get my rear discs checked for wear, but they wouldnt budge. I pretty much had to destroy the rotors to get them off, so i guess im getting new ones anyway.
I also need at least new pads on the front too.
The good news is that i should be able to get everything put back together and touched up in a weekend's worth of work.
The undercarriage is going to look awesome when its done

OK so update now that im home working on it again...
Started on my brake-job today, and removing the front rotors i found i had a bad passenger wheel bearing. I also found that my rotors are at the end of their life, so i am going to have 100% new brakes this season.
I thought my car stopped good before with worn out stuff so i cant wait to see how it drives now.
Im also replacing a torn tie-rod bushing this evening, and replacing the pinion seal tomorrow.
Other than that i just have to finish up some paint: coil springs, brake calipers, and random touch ups here and there. Theres a few other small things i need to put together, but i should have it ready to go for woodward on friday if things go as planned. I dont think theres much more opportunity for hidden surprises thankfully.-Joel

well i wanted a 3.90 until i realized it was a weaker gearset, so then i was considering 3.73 or 4.11.... but then i decided id rather just cam it now than run 12s with bolt ons like i was originally trying for.Originally posted by badinfluence View Postwhat gears were you considering?
I never realized you had 2OTL exhaust, does that sound nice?
The 2OTL... ehhh. It sounded REALLY good on stock exhaust, but every modification i have done since then has made it sound a little bit blander. It still sounds good, but someday im going to exchange it for something with tips on each side. I normally have my cutout open anyway, so i dont really care how it sounds
