Off topic, but did you prep your truck at all? I've got a can of chassis saver at home that I'm going to put on all factory black pieces on the undercarraige of my truck and TA. Did you prep the surfaces at all? I was just planning on cleaning both undercarraiges good and then using a wire brush on any loose paint (shouldn't be much), there is no rust on the TA but the truck had some rust on a few of the suspension pieces. I didn't plan on any sort of adhesion promoter or primer..Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostI might just start on it this weekend. I am pretty confident in chasis saver working as an adhesion promoter. That stuff was 10x stronger than rustoleum when it came to the rust on my last truck.-Derek-

Nope, wire wheeled it a bit but its made to be painted over rust and bare metal.-Joel

Sounds like a cool idea, but the wheels have pitting and i think id rather just cover that up with straight black. Maybe if they were in nicer shape.Originally posted by GETGONE View PostDuplicolor makes a black chrome spray paint intended for wheels and such. The more coats you spray the darker it gets. They have clear you top it off with. If the chrome's not too bad you could go that route for an interesting chrome/black chrome look.-Joel

Didnt see this reply last night, but yes thats what I was planning on doingOriginally posted by ThreeHonks View PostRemember, chassis saver is affected by UV rays and when used in direct sunlight you must top coat it with some type of other paint

Id never leave it at just a coat of chasis saver anyway, that wouldnt shine enough for my tastes
