Yeah I definitely see both sides. in my experience it seems like to get 15% more traction you sacrifice 50% of the tire life. Heck some drag radials are totally shot after 7k.

Well since I could sleep last night. I have a question or two.
I need go refill the a/c stuff. R-134 I think it is. Is there a special "oil" I have to put in too? I thought I read somewhere that you do.
Also, what kind of sealant should I be using on the bolts for the water pump? RTV?
And I should put some RTV on the gaskets to help seal, and hold them in place correct?sigpic

Installed the replacement taillights. Other ones were almost a complete blackout. Should be starting the Water Pump tomorrow.
Took a crappy cell phone pic because nobody cares enough for me to bust out the digital [emoji53]

Youll love them too trust me I loved them on my old wheels and when I need tires again I will be buying them again. Quiet, lasted and treated the car very well.Originally posted by Atrus View PostMan, now that I am looking into them, I may have to consider the Riken's. Comfortable and quiet ride with them?sigpic

Why does it need to be refilled is the real question. PAG 150 oil is what the system requires, but you shouldn't need any if you didn't remove compressor or any lines.Originally posted by DanDalessandro View PostI need go refill the a/c stuff. When I replaced the radiator, the condenser didn't want to make life easy so I ended up disconnecting the silver pipe that goes to it up top. All of the gas came out. So I shouldn't have to put the oil in?Originally posted by hoogiesngrinderz View PostWhy does it need to be refilled is the real question. Shouldn't need it. You now have to replace the accumulator and run a vacuum on the system for an hour to remove all the moisture. After the hour is up, close the valves and remove the pump. If it holds vacuum for 20-30 minutes, now you can add 32oz of R-134a via low pressure side.Originally posted by DanDalessandro View PostWhen I replaced the radiator, the condenser didn't want to make life easy so I ended up disconnecting the silver pipe that goes to it up top. EDIT: I assume you're talking about your 97. 98+ LS1 use 24oz.

Water pump is out. Looks like I'm missing the o-ring on the shaft.
Should be putting water pump back on tomorrow, changing the oil and firing it up. Fingers crossed.
On another note, my optispark was replaced either in 2007 or 2001. Looks more like 07. If that's the case, it has 15k miles on it..sigpic

Wont be taking it for a spin any time soon, the garage is in the back yard, and the ground is too wet. Plus I won't be continuing work on it today.. School is a priority right now, since the car wont be on the road for another week or so.
In other news, I picked up the o-rings. So I should be putting them on tomorrow, and will be able to start it up.sigpic

Got the water pump back on, slowly started putting things back together but called it a night. Just a few more things to bolt in, and I should be good to go (hopefully).sigpic
