  • That was the answer I was looking for [emoji14] Ain't gonna happen though, college life!
I haven't see anything on the ground so I think I just bled it improperly.

    Hopefully I get time tomorrow!

    • Filled it with coolant, wasn't that low. I didn't bleed it properly, I jumped the gun on it and forgot to check the coolant level but no worries!
Destroyed the paint on the tower brace Going to just paint it black. Still have to get tires too

I'm going to be designing an exhaust setup later too. For those of you who don't know, I have shorty headers.. I got them new in the box for ~$40.. BBK too. So with the shorties I have cats, and they are on their way out because the passenger side is rattling like grandma's rocking chair (damn good analogy if I say so myself).

Now I have a question here, should I remove the AIR, EGR or just leave it in until I can get it tuned out then remove all of it. Thanks
I'll also upload a "pic" of my exhaust idea. Can't go to longtubes this year, not in the budget right now, and I want to enjoy the car this summer

      • Id say keep the emissions until you can get LT's ORY and get it all tuned up and ready then.

        • Yeah, I'm going to get LTs this winter, but that's only if the garage gets cleaned out. I just can't stand the rattling cats anymore, they are that bad. I get a headache whenever I drive. Some days they are screaming, others they are just faintly whining. If the cost is not expensive I'll do the Ypipe. If it is,well better get earmuffs! They really scream when the RPMs drop from +4k when still in a low gear.

This was the setup on my cousins 383 with shorties. This was on a 94 with a 97 engine. This is somewhat what I would aim for. His was $40 to be made like 4 years ago lol.

Here's to hoping the garage is insulated and the stuff sold out of it.

            • Looks to me like a home-made ORY for shorties or stock manifolds?

              • Budget or not i wouldnt touch anything until you have $ for LTs. Even if the shorties were free thats a lot of knuckle busting and exhaust fabbing you have to do for little gain.

                • Yeah, you know what. I'm just going to go LTs. Pacesetters have the best fit I think?

What are your LT1s running at temperature wise? I have a 160° thermostat in. Just curious what you are at. I'm going to get cat codes and egr deleted out this summer and see if I can get the fans tuned to come on earlier.

                  • Pacesetters are the only ones out there anymore last time i checked..

Ive got a 160 Tsat in mine and it never gets above 180 unless in 85 and sunny and im in stop and go traffic then, it will warm up to 200ish.

                    • Same on the temps.

There are more than pacesetters available but they are the only headers i ever recommend. Good fit, good plug access and they run well. The stainless pacesetter clones are a close second if youre driving the car in the elements (flanges usually need to be redrilled in those).

Ive installed 3 sets of the stainless stepped LTs and they dont fit worth a damn... Installing them takes 3x the time and cuss words. Requires a cutoff wheel, torch and BFH. The Jet hot / hooker super comps are decent but they hang low and like to scrape.

                        • I thought I heard that Jets had a slip fit on the first primary for driver side so you don't have to disconnect the starring shaft.

I'm going with pacesetters this winter, gotta enjoy the car for more than 2 weeks at a time

                          • P0137 code popped up. Bank 1 sensor 2 low voltage. I smell a tune out in the future..
P0140 I think showed up before. Which is no activity at all.. Post Cat o2 sensors don't calculate fuel air ratio right?
Also getting P0410 which is secondary air injection system. That is for emissions. I'll double check to see if it is even plugged in
P1441 Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) System flow during non-purge. I replaced the sensor for it, only for me to break it, so I'll replace it again and see if that fixes it. Is the EVAP emissions related..I know it says it in its name, but is it important.
                            Thanks

I hate the CEL. Been on since I've owned the car.

That's my understanding...they are just monitoring the efficiency of the cats, for emissions purposes.

That said, is the tune to ignore the code a lot cheaper than a new O2?

                              • I would fix it Dave, but I plan on dumping the cats and going the Long Tubes route this winter, so the work wouldn't be worth the reward. Plus I think it has to deal with some faulty wiring. I'll look at it, see if it is even plugged in because I had one that wasn't plugged in last year [emoji38]
