I was going to do a FI 383, but I learned very quickly that the money to get it right with that combo is a lot. A LOT. Do a carb with a stroker.

Not Really I figured it out weeks ago.Originally posted by Jdseibe View Post.... (I know, the suspense must be killing you haha).. I will tell you a few things about it.. I'm staying Third Gen.. and it's white.. the rest you will have to wait to find out about haha!....

Big Block in a Third Gen is a tight fit & not worth the time or hassle IMHO. I'd go with the Small Block 383, It would fit the car much better too.Originally posted by Jdseibe View PostFuture plans (at this moment) will consist of a 383 Stroker build and a T-56 swap.. I probably shouldn't mention it.. because it is only a possibility.. but there IS a slight possibility that I can get my hands on a mild 454 street engine for a good price.. but we will see about that! ....Western Michigan Camaro Club ~ President

shhhh! no telling! haha.. yea I think I am going to go the whole 383 route for this.. was talking about possibly doing forced induction.. not sure on that yet.. but whatever I do.. want to keep it under the stock hood.. I like the look of the car too much to rip it all up."Project Shadowfax" <- Clicky Clicky

Looks like the cam has .490 lift, which is the exact max. lift allowed by those heads as built. If I'm reading those numbers right, I'd like a little bit of a buffer there.DynoDave

oops haha.. I was also looking at the summit vortec heads which had a lift of .520 and the aluminum ones caught my eye..Originally posted by DynoDave View PostLooks like the cam has .490 lift, which is the exact max. lift allowed by those heads as built. so what do you think makes more sense.. sticking with the aluminum heads and dropping in cam size or sticking with that cam size and going with the iron vortecs.. or finding a different combo all together?"Project Shadowfax" <- Clicky Clicky

You're welcome bud! Anytime I can convert a Camaro owner over to the "good side" then I have done my job well.

Enjoy it man, I'm sure you'll do me proud. Can't wait to see this thread progress now.West Michigan Pontiac Club

I'll fill in some of the details, but I'll let Jeremy tell his plans for it.
It is a 15th Anniversary car. It's an automatic. It was built at the Norwood plant. Car was sold new at Orson E. Coe Pontiac here in Grand Rapids, and up until now, spent it's entire life in West Michigan. Which given how solid the car is, that's surprising. It must have been stored winters by the previous owners. What's interesting about this car is that it was built after my Van Nuys car (also a 15th Annv), but has an earlier sequence numbered VIN
. I saved it from the hands of an abusive, young hack a few years ago with the idea of doing "something" with it.(it's needs some love) That never happened, and due to a recent acquisition I ran out of storage space. So rather than see it sit outside, I offered it to Jeremy.
I'm certain Jeremy will enjoy the car, and will take to the next level. A level I never had the time or space for.West Michigan Pontiac Club

The first T/A that caught my eye and got me shopping F-bodies again was a 15th anniv. car. I'm jealous.DynoDave
