  • [Project] Mike's 1986 IROC Z Thread

This will serve as my build / rebuild thread for my 86 Iroc.

  • #2
Figured that now is a good time to make a project thread for my red 86 iroc.

Coming back from woodward on friday, the air cleaner stud failed letting the air cleaner assembly fall onto the throttle. The engine spun to about 7500 and then knocked it's way to a parking lot where she died.

I'm in pursuit of a new heart for my baby and I'll catalog all the shenanigans in this thread.

The car is pretty hopped up but always lacked power. Drivetrain is a stock t5 (or so I believe) to a 10 bolt drum rear with 3.23 gears.

I have a 9 bolt rear disc setup with 3.70 and upgraded axles ready to go. This will be mated together with a ls1 aluminum shaft.
