Car look sick at the M&G! My rears rub on the inside too, i hammered them but it still rubs. I bit the bullet and ordered another set of spacers.

Yeah I'll probably try adding a spare set of 1/8" spacers on to the ones I already use back there since I'm not allowed to make any modifications inboard of the hub face. I wouldn't even care that much other than I need to flip tires to make them last longer and that won't work if I keep leaving all the rubber on the body.

Well as some of you already know the car broke the diff on Sunday. I've been having wheel hop issues and two runs before hopped the hell out of it in the middle of a high speed corner. Next time around on the same side of the course it just let go on the launch. Still has drive but clunks when turning and tipping into the throttle. Most likely broke the locking mechanism.

I actually thought about that, but it wouldn't work so well in the tight stuff. Even thought about a locker but that would be a bad idea as well.

Might only run this car in ESP for a few years. Despite giving up ~250lbs and 100hp, the top 5 in ESP usually runs quick enough to finish top 3 in CP.

Yeah pretty standard for me really. I'm pretty sure that side hopping is what put the final nails in the coffin for the diff though.

Well here is what I came home with from Toledo. I picked this cone up on Saturday and didn't notice until it was loaded onto the tow truck for the ride home.










Of course the reason for the tow truck...differential soup

Not much has been done other than some number crunching. It seems it could be possible to get the car to hit 3100lbs with a full tank of fuel. That would require lightweight Wilwood calipers and scalloped rotors, Bogart 17" wheels (5lbs less per wheel than CCWs), lithium battery and hollow front bar. Little things that would also help would be getting rid of the seat sliders, converting to a 2.25" rear spring, and draining the wiper fluid reservoir which I am already doing. The rest of it is just at the bottom of the list for further development and very questionable on when it gets done. Definitely won't be this year or next. The car weighed in at 3202lb with a bit over 3/8 tank of fuel and the heavy Chinese wheels before it broke. Between the Penskes, CCWs, and wiper fluid that should be a ~50lb drop, but a full tank will add back 40-50lbs.

Bearing races don't seem to want to come out of the housing this time around so I need a bigger drift. Other than that put in orders for parts I'll need for the Penske upgrade as well as the brake proportioning valve.

I've heard the lightweight Wilwoods (Superlites) suck for continued usage, or at least that's what I've been told.

Been looking at a TCE brake kit to upgrade my Cobalt, which uses DP6s (so not the Superlites), but I keep hearing mixed feedback. I think those - but with a pad that isn't junk (i.e. not the BP10s) would be perfectly fine.

Yeah I've read that the Dynalites won't cut it but the Dynapros should. I know they would be fine for a normal autocross, just not sure about a ProSolo where the car gets hot lapped for 4 shorter runs. The rule requires a rotor of at least the stock diameter and thickness as well as keeping the ebrake, so that at least helps make sure you still retain a somewhat usable brake. You also aren't allowed to modify the spindle which rules out everything from Strange or Aerospace.
