tune is decent, need to get the new header on and fix the pcv issues then consider a tune.

I almost wish it could be done at dyno day to place bets on what it does

A member on here wants my HP Tuners setup, if I get EFI Live in trade, I'll gladly take a look this spring. One of my laptops is setup to do 98 only PCM tuning with both of my WB o2 setups

I can already tell it revs freer. I still think it will need a cat or something to take the rasp out but it's running better than it has in a long time I bet.

When warm it's 750 according to the tuner. Idk what it actually is.

im not joking your car sounds like mine did before i tuned it, so im thinking its either lean or the timing is off in a way that its running hotter than it should.

Usually mail order tunes are richer than they should be for safety.

I mi need to fix the pcv hose and it to idle constantly before we really look into it any further.

I do want to get it road tuned but that's later this year. In my head I'm still going back and forth with putting a different cam and pushrods in lol

I thought my mail order tune was decent, until Dr Phil looked at it the day he tuned my camaro. Glad I didn't run the tune from frost that long. Which I know sometimes its hit or miss..but in my case,was a big miss. The previous owner sent the PCM to be tuned Nate?

Previous owner tuned it himself with LS1edit, I didn't trust that to sent it to Ion to be tuned. Didn't change anything noticeable besides the rev limiter. The fuel pump was the issue "back then"

What should the idle be? I guess it is a little high when you factor out the gauge, even though 98's are the most accurate of the bunch.

I know you mentioned the oil catch can being set up backwards -- is there an inline one-way valve on it by chance? If it's set up backwards with the inline valve, it could be allowing you to have a vacuum leak.

You have a 224 right? I would say 750 is fine if it idles well. I just thought yours sounded a lot higher than that, and it looked like the tach was around a thousand.

i dont really hear any sounds of a vacuum leak in this video really. however IMO something is deff not right. car sounds way off all through the rpm band and especially at idle. sounds like a bunch of fire crackers going off in the exhaust.

i would deff get a real tune through the Dr to make sure its all set up good.

I am 100% positive the catch can is hooked up backwards. Hoping to go switch that around today if I can finish up some tablets for work.

I think thats whats causing the idle to be high/goofy. Ive never even cleaned the catch can

No valve that I know of, just ass backwards. Im guessing it affects the vacuum somehow.

Yes 224. That vid was not fully warm either. When does it switch to open loop?

thats the plan though I dont hear firecrackers. Maybe its because I hear it in person?

I think timing is off across the entire range, along with possible small IAC/vacuum leak type issue. Thats just going by my ear though.

Definitely start with the catch can and go from there.
