  • If you have adjustable shocks up front you can just tighten them up a couple clicks and the front bar won't be missed, unless you want to autocross.

Stiffer rear bar will help eliminate twist on the launch.

^ This. I would save for a drag bar tho. The new(ish) BMR extreme bar is super light compared to the other brands and is priced very similar.

MWC bar is suppose to be 10-15lbs as well - but if you need one in a hurry good luck. I'd like to ditch my spoon bar for one - but the car needs $$$ else where.

        • I'll have to wait on a drag bar, funds are getting low for car stuff. Just had to pay for this semester and books.

Would the 24mm be worth putting on for $25?
I have whatever comes stock on a 1996 V6 car on it now. So I think 19mm

          • Don't mess with any type of sway bar. Your going to want a bar that has solid links with spherical rod ends.

The mwc bar I have weighs about 6 lbs, that's the rear end mounted style.

Could always wait 4 months to buy one, it'll be one of the best suspension pieces you will put on.

            • The car will be street driven a lot, how is the MWC on the street?

Can you still jack the car up from the rear end with the MWC?

              • Couldn't tell you. Mine has not been out since I have put it on..

Any anti roll/drag bar will be fine... you will see wear and tear on the rod ends of the links because of it being a solid bar. Not really a big deal, how many street miles a year.

                Bmr,umi,spohn,Wolfe,mwc,racecraft,trz all make good vars

                • Personally I would never put anything BMR or Spohn on my car, I've seen way too many of their parts fail from normal use.

                  • I was thinking MWC or UMI personally.

                    MWC is about 20lbs lighter.

UMI is more adjustable and can be set less stiff for street use.

The 20lbs there is not a huge deal, if it were over the nose that would be more of a selling point.

The MWC is about $50 cheaper, but you get less as far as materials go.

I'd still like more opinions from everyone who runs either of these!

                    • What do you mean umi is more adjustable and less stiff? You either set the rod links neutral or preload them, There isn't any other adjustability on an anti roll bar.

Make a pass at the track and see how it tracks. If it wants to steer right lengthen your passenger link, if it want to steer left shorten the passenger side. Set the load on them with a driver that weighs close to you

Check it out, there are two holes on the end of the bar, the closest hole to the end would be less stiff, the inner one more stiff.

                          • If I was to buy one again - it'd be the MWC piece, if I didn't want to wait for it - I'd go with the UMI.

Just beware drag bars can be noisy.

I am not too worried about noise, I have coilovers and true duals lol.

I like that the UMI is supposed to be more street friendly, and I can more easily lift the car with a floor jack to change tires at the track.

I like MWC's pieces. I may wait for tax season and see if either runs a sale.

                              • Got a little bit done today, front bar is out, cruise is gone, and removed the rest of the a/c stuff under the hood.

I pulled my PCM out to ship to Steve to have my retune done.

I am getting a decent tax return this year, so I will be buying a anti roll bar with that.
