Just a note on those seals...The GM seals come with very specific instructions for installing them...and they say to use very minimal adhesive only in certain spots.

Yeah, I bought the OER ones. The install was pretty easy. Clean up and prep took the most time. The was literally no glue at all holding the old seals in. Strip calk and and the 3M weatherstrip adhesive and some adhesive promoter was all we needed. There are a couple of spots where the adhesive is a little thick. The picture above was before everything was cleaned up. Any trouble with the ones that you have installed James?

howd you prep the area for the seals? when we did them at the interior shop we wiped them down until we couldnt get any bit of grime then we used a very light adhesive applied the weather stripping and used the rest of the black sealant as instructed.

Basically, we knocked all of the surface rust off with a scotchbrite pad. Then we used wax and grease remover to clean everything up. Then we painted the area where the seals go and the tbar with chassis black paint. The chassis black paint is kind of like the por-15 that all of these guys are using on their inner fender wells and stuff. The paint didn't lay down as well as I would have liked, but it doesn't look terrible.

Finally got the car going this passed weekend. The transmission shifts great, and the posi and 373's are a blast so far. The interior is done for the most part, other than the headliner and dash pad. We took the car up and down Hines Drive a few times and and I have been driving it to work this week. No problems so far. Knock on wood.. lol.

My Dad and I did the rears. They aren't perfect but they don't look bad. I should have bought new foam for the rears. My ttops were leaking on the rear seats pretty bad. The foam was pretty dried and brittle. When we steamed it, it looked ok but by time we got the covers on there was some bunching. The cover kit I bought came with plastic rods to attach the hog rings to. We ended up using the metal ones from the original covers. After a lot of tries to get rid of wrinkles, I finally settled for what you see in the pictures. Not perfect but I can live with it.

Looks great -- get a few people to sit in the back seats for awhile and they'll stretch out and look good.

Thanks man! I will see whats going on. I need to install my headliner and visors still. I may end up doing that on Saturday. If I can get it done early enough we may ride out that way. I bought the covers and headliner/visor kit from hawks third gen. They arent leather so they feel kind of stiff. I'm hoping that they will soften up someonce they are broken in a little.

Cool. Ill be there from noon to three. Hawks has good stuff! I wound up just making some delete pieces for my sun visors. All they did was fall down and piss me off in every f body I've owned lol. How are those summit springs? I just cut mine for the time being. Had to replace a washing machine pretty suddenly.

Sounds good! Yeah mine are always falling too. If these new ones aren't any better I will buy the delete plate also. The springs are great so far. I bought the 1.5's. Only got about an inch of drop out of them. If I could do it over again I would buy the 2 inch set. If i remember right they were fairly cheap too.
