That may be the plan too. I should have a body shop estimate by the end of the week. Then I will know where I stand and exactly what I need to get out of what I have. I wish I knew how to do paint and bodywork. lol

I finally had some time to spend cleaning the car up. It was pretty nasty inside and out. I still havent tackled the interior yet. This car was really neglected. We were finally able to get the car up on a hoist at my Dads dealership and thankfully it is in pretty good shape. The floors are are pretty mint and the only bad spots that we saw were where people missed the frame with the jack. Every rubber bushing on the car is bad, bad trans mount, bad idler arm, leaking intake gasket and a bad pinion seal. In the last two weeks I have spent almost $700 on parts. Hoping to get the pinion seal and trans mount done today.
I got the estimate for the body work that I was waiting for. I am using the entire front clip off of the RS except for the hood. I have one more guy that is interested in the RS minus the clip. If he cant come up with the cash in the next week I will have parts available. My Dad finally reluctantly agreed to help me part it if this guy doesn't come up with the cash.

      • IMG_1841.JPGIMG_1840.JPGI was finally able to get the car out and drive it a bit last weekend. I had my little partner with me and we had a great time. The car runs great but it needs a lot of tlc. After owning a few of these cars you find out that each one has their own little quirks. The parts list is getting bigger.

            • Wow! It has been a while since i posted an update on here. Most of you guys that are on here are friends on Facebook so you have seen the progress on the car so far. For those of you that haven't seen the updates here you go. I wasn't able to get out with the car as much as I would have liked to but I did make the Mifbody show and Camaro Superfest. I didn't make it out to Woodward at all. I'm kind of ashamed. lol. Family stuff, problems with the ex and my Mom going into hospice care took up a lot of my time. For those of you that know me you know what the last couple of years have been like for me. A mess!
Moving on to better things I was able to get the body and paint work done, most of it anyway. In reality the whole car needed to be painted. Money wise I was able to get the front clip off of the RS bumped and painted to put on the Z28. It came out pretty good I think, although it is a shade off. We expected that with paint that was over 20 years old. The rear bumper needs to be painted pretty bad along with the rear spoiler. Over the winter here I am planning on doing some Eibach sportline springs, new Ttop seals, brakes, and maybe finding a bumper cover to have shot. I'll try to keep up on the updates. Here are some pictures.IMG_1981.JPGIMG_1987.JPGIMG_2471.JPGIMG_2472.JPGIMG_2337.JPGIMG_2301.JPGIMG_0111.JPGIMG_0126.JPGIMG_0128.JPGIMG_0129.JPGIMG_0130.JPGIMG_0154.JPG

Thanks guys! The guys name is Chester. He owns Bass Headz audio. They do tint, stereo stuff, and a lot of other miscellaneous car stuff. A lot of times he will come to you and do it in your garage if its not too far. He has done both of my cars at a buddys garage. He does the back window in one piece which looks a lot better than most tint guys do, although you lose the rear defogger. Let me know if you want his number and I'll pass it on.
