Although I agree I dont think Brian wants to swap interiors. I would put that black interior in there in a heart beat and recover his current headliner. Then sell the red to offset the cost. He knows he has a buyer for it.
The red stuff is pretty rough Darren. A bunch worse than it looks in the pictures. Most of the red plastics are pretty rough too. Once you see it you will understand. Dont think it would be worth much if I sold it. If you have time on Saturday try to come out and check the stuff out. My Dad wants me to get 2 grand out of the car. After thinking about it last night I think hes pretty close to where I need to be with it. Money wise I would be where I told you I would be, but I know that you guys have some stuff that I need. You have those wheels and Brian has that radiator. I know that Brian has parted a bunch of these cars so I know that he will be able to make some money when it is all said and done. You guys are always dealing in parts so like I said you will have the first shot at everything. I know that you guys have a place where the car can sit and have parts pulled off of it. If I had a place the car would already be stripped and sent to the scrapper.

I wouldn't trust her with butane, I don't care how hot she is!

To be honest tho Brian to get $2k out of the car you need to part it out, I doubt you will ever see that from someone buying the car as a whole. But if you do then great sell it! If your dad wants you to get that then he should let you part it out at his house, I'd be willing to help and be interested in a few parts off the car as well if you did. But Even at the number you said plus trade would be way to far out of my range. Its a lot of work to part these cars out and you sit on parts for a long time to get your money out of them. I dont think theres much more then $2k in parts there to make it worth it. Interior, drive train and rear is your money the rest is just nickle and dime time consuming pieces.

If the red in the new car isnt so great then why wouldnt you swap that black interior in? I know the headliner wont work but you can recover the current one in black. I am about to attempt to cover one, does not seem difficult at all. Those seats and plastics would look mint in a red car like that. Then you are 1/2 to parting that car out and could make your money back from both.

The red stuff is what came with the car. I would like to keep it in there for that reason i guess. If i do end up parting the RS maybe I will keep the black stuff. I'm just not sure how well the plastics and carpet will clean up. I listed the car for $2500 on a few sites today and there seems to be a decent amount of interest. We will see I guess. I would still rather see you guys get the stuff. Then at least I would know that it would be helping out people that we know and will see around out cruising. If you change your mind and want to make me an offer let me know. Thanks dude!

                • Naw I cant at that price or near it, you can buy running driving cars for that. If you part it out shoot me a call on the rear I would be very interested in that.

Running driving cars that are junk. I looked a hundred of them. I have almost 2 grand into the interior alone. I cant give it away. I think the price that we talked about and a set of wheels is a pretty fair deal. I'm not mad at you dude, I understand.

                    • I personally think 2 grand is pushing it on wrecked car.

My reasoning for this is because I bought my 91' for $2000 in great running driving condition. Scored the 92' for $1650, drove it home. Would be a great survivor of not for the paint. I wish these cars were worth more, but it's all in what someone is willing to pay.

Yeah I guess we will see. I know that I am going to lose on it pretty bad unless I part it. It just sucks when you know the cost of everything that you have. The thing that will save me is that we did all of the work ourselves. If I had to pay for labor I would be crying right now. lol.
Almost a grand in parts just in the transmission.

                        • Brian part it out. Start now you can have it gone in a few weeks. I'll buy the rear. I'll help pull it... The trans will sell the engine will sell. I'll help you break it down even. Pull the interior and either keep it or sell it. I bet you can get good money for it selling it out of the car. I'll be shocked if you sell it for $2k or more if you do let me know I'll list my car as soon as you have the money. I bought my car for $2200 and it wasn't crap as you said. You must have just looked at a bunch of people not in touch with reality. Cars for sub 2500 are all over. Heck Brian bought one for $300 and we drove it home. You can get rid of it fast in pieces. I'll help you even... Part it out at my house if that's the case.

Thanks Darren. We will see. My Pop is the one that has all of the labor into it so I understand him wanting me to get the most out of it. I will let you know what happens. I have a guy from downriver that says he is interested at the $2500 I listed it for. Another guy from Harrison offered me $1200 and a running driving Chevy pickup. We will see if these guys are serious or not.
