How much power do you plan to make? If it's a heads/cam/bolton car you will be fine with blocking off the rear ports. If you plan to spray I would consider finding the older style crossover that connects to the 4 ports.

the P/N you got was correct the 99 and later block off the rear ports as these guys mentioned. If you choose to use a 98 style 4 port crossover you will have to use an LS1 intake manifold or grind/chisel off the ribs on the bottom of an LS6 for it to fit properly. There are other options as well depending on how fancy you want to get I'm waiting for Larry to make me one with some brake line

I would use all 4 personally. Coolant and steam just roars out of their when the engine is running. If using a LS6 intake just chisel the ribs off. I had less than 2 minutes into mine. Used a 1in chisel and a small hammer, one quick pop and the ribs fly off, literally, just where safety glasses or something.

i have an ls1 intake. i dont get why they would block the two off, if they are needed.

Maybe that came out wrong. I want the 4 port one. I don't get why it would be blocked off

The 4 port setups (LS1) have been superseded via the 2 port setups (LS6).

I doubt you'll find a new one - if you need a 4 port setup you'll need to find one used, buy an aftermarket one (Kurt Urban) or put one together yourself.

Same here I didnt take offense to it and personally I don't understand why GM blocks them off.

                              • Those brackets are almost impossible to find, start searching on LS1 tech. I got lucky, some guy had one in the top of his tool box he wasnt using. They were a dealer only item, and last time I checked they didnt make them anymore.
