Project round two: 1992 Chevy Camaro

The oil drive slot and rotor was not matched up. Jon rotated the oil drive on the distributor and dropped it in.

Any more insight rather then push and turn. Having troubles with the fraying on the end of the braded line into the fittings.

so my guess was right with the distributor and oil pump stick. fraying always happens to some degree with braided lines, do what james said otherwise be careful and you might have some sore fingers.

Well what was really going on, is Darren and John were doing it correctly, just like everyone has been telling him to do it, but for whatever reason, his MSD distributor's slot for the oil pump drive shaft isn't aligned with the rotor point on the top of the distributor shaft. So in reality, for Darren's distributor, his oil pump drive shaft needs to be pointed at the number 7 cylinder and the rotor is pointed at number one. Then it all drops in just like it's supposed to.

Really once Darren gets his fuel lines all set, he just needs to finish up odds and ends and go through everything again and make sure everything is tight, and it's gonna fire no problem! He really does have an good looking engine bay. I think everyone will be very impressed with it out on Woodward. That's because he will have it out on Woodward in no time once he gets his odds and ends wrapped up.

So BigJon and I got right to work last night (big thanks to him for always lending a hand and helping me through this project! for jon [MENTION=2135]bigjon88[/MENTION]) we got the wiring harness done! I didnt think to take a picture so fail on me. It has all been cut and de-pinned and is zip tied awaiting the really expensive wire loom [MENTION=1023]OVRKILL[/MENTION]. We installed the harness to see where everything went and I am very pleased with the LACK of wiring you will see. Also Jon came out with a great idea to hide the light harness, going to tackle that soon as well. We got one of the fuel lines done and installed, have to wait on another order from Summit to get the other one done

Other then this just a few odds and ends to finish up and a few other issues to tackle. Also a shout out to [MENTION=709]bri2203[/MENTION] for being a good parts guy and always lending a hand. He loaned me his drop air filter to test fit on my car and then was able to find me one to buy from him! Also many parts for my car has been from his parts cars or received from him in some other way.

Still on the list:

Body work - finish prep on front clip and rear bumper cover
Paint
Install all air dam, lights, etc
Drop tank and remove fuel pump
install torque arm and driveshaft
figure out how the interior goes back

START HER UP!

I don't think over ever seen one lines up to number1. I just set the rotor phase and turn the engine over. Falls right in.
I use green masking tape, cut with a chop saw. Leav tape on Til started and pull ask much out as you can

She needs water, a leaky fuel line fixed, I need to drop the tank and remove my electric fuel pump, hook up fans, figure out throttle cable and install my MSD... So close!

Thanks, looks better then the rest of the car but at least something will look good. I have to do something with that alternator tho.
