  • Got some more work done...

Got some good news and a few setbacks (but I have time). Good news is the bottom end looks brand new, I was told it was rebuilt before I bought it and it sure shows. So I am quite sure I do not have to touch the bottom end with anything but paint. The bad news is the "plan" I had will not work, as I can not use my other heads with my TBI intake. I am currently weighing my options and figuring out what to do. I am thinking about going with vortec head and intake and a totally different cam, or using my other heads, with my RPM intake and Clevite cam buying a carb and all the MSD ignition stuff. I could have a good deal on a MSD package that includes everything I would need, besides a carb.

Decisions, decisions, all I know is come spring I hope to have a mildly built head/cam 350

Started with a "P" wasnt very good, was a new blend that was advertised at the smokers outlet on 12 mile so I thought I would give it a try.

                • Go with Arturo Fuente or Romeo Y Juliettas. Or Acids. Or Monte Cristo (sometimes more $$). Or Cohiba. Or Rocky Patel.

                    • IMO carb it or go to a 5.3

You can find 23 degree carb intakes for so cheap its not even funny.

Yeap I agree. Since I never really posted them up here are the motor plans as it stands now:

350 4 bolt main I am going to use my late 60's double hump heads, getting them rebuilt and ported, using my RPM carb intake, buying a carb and looking into cams. Jon and I picked out a comp cam that will work well and still fit in the "build" that I am going for, but open to researching more. Buying the MSD ignition kit which includes, the MSD box, distributor, cap, wires, coil, and brackets. Its all in the works, right now this will be done by spring.

                        • Sounds like a pretty solid plan. Should be a stout motor with some port work to the heads and intake. I was talking to my Dad about your motor. He was saying that you can make a lot of horsepower with just top end stuff, and a stock bottom end. I cant wait to hear it run! It was cool meeting you and Jon the other night. I will get with you before Christmas so I can come get some of the other stuff that we talked about. Thanks Darren!
