So in case you guys didn't see, Fred Munster is selling his used 3.42 gears, and I'm somewhat interested. I'm pretty sure I'm currently running 2.73s (only SS and WS6 autos came with 3.23s, right?), but I have to check my option codes to make sure. They're used with over 140k miles on them, but my gears have more miles than that. Looking for some input from those who know more about this stuff than myself.

I was thinking about upgrading to 3.23s or 3.42s at some point. I'm looking for a bit more off the line...this car will be street-driven frequently, but I do plan on dabbling in autocross and drag racing occasionally as well.

so that being settled, would it be worth my time to buy used factory gears?

What will I have to do extra for the change from a 2-series to a 3-series gear?
