    • No, I pushed it to another parking spot, washed it, took out all the parts that were sitting inside, and set my sunglasses, an empty water bottle, and a bottle of sunscreen inside. Apparently it was convincing enough

        • **** my life. Broke off another bolt when installing the intake manifold. What are they supposed to torqued to? Why am I the only idiot who has this problem?

          I fail at life.

            • Hot damn, that'll do it! What bolt on the intake only has a torque spec of 71in pounds? Fuel rails?

              • Yikes sorry to hear, Peter. Time to use an easy out and get the bolt out. Just remember how satisfying it will be driving the car once it's finally finished.

It's supposed to be 71 in-lbs the first pass, then 35 ft-lbs second pass.

yeah...I doubt that. If I wasn't such a massive idiot this would've all been done more than a month ago. I'm not going to feel satisfaction when it's back on the road, just a sense of embarrassment at my comedy of failures.

                  • I'm going to need two intake manifold bolts now (I'm pretty sure I yielded another one besides the one I sheared off). If anybody can hook me up, I'd appreciate it.

                    • So I removed the intake manifold yet again today so I could remove the rest of that bolt. Destroyed my brand new gaskets in the process. A friend and I spent about an hour scraping what was left off of the manifold and the heads. I grabbed a vise-grip to try to get the broken bolt out, and no dice. There isn't enough for me to actually grip onto. I tried to drill a hole for an easy-out before I took the manifold out, but I couldn't get it decent then either.

I'm really at an odds for what to do next....I'm at the point that I'm so frustrated that I'm having a hard time getting the will power to work on the thing anymore. I legitimately wonder if it's even worth it...I feel like I need to hide the thing somewhere until I start craving it again. I've just gotten so sick of it now. I want it to just be done so I can enjoy it, but I don't even know if I can enjoy it anymore.

                      • So I've tried pretty much everything I can think of, and I still haven't been able to get that stupid bolt out. I really don't know what else to do. I think I'm just going to put the intake manifold back on and call it good enough.

                            • Might be time to just buy an intake manifold off of ebay.

                              • The bolt is stuck in the head, not the intake manifold.
