Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Rainy day, so after watching the USA women's team win gold (), I spent about an hour and a half going to three different hardware/auto supply stores looking for thread chasers and caps for the AIR fittings. Went 0 for 3. Where do you think I could find these? I need the chasers more than the caps.

I typically used taps after powder coat but I'm very careful with it. Chasers are hard to find - I guess Sears did/does sell a "rethreading kit" for $50
Summit has inexpensive thread chasers. Might be too late now, but if you get them early enough ground shipping will get it to you next day 99% of the time.

Also, I'd just go with the PCM4less tune. There's been 1000s of LT1s that have done this, they've gotta have it pretty well figured out by now.
the 18 is the number of threads per inch. And that's sort of what I was thinking with PCMforless, but I would still feel more confident with a legit dyno tune. Jim (birdie2000) suggested maybe I see about asking the tuner to at least remove EGR from my PCM with a deposit toward a full tune later, so the car will at least be running. Thoughts?

what is the actual difference between a tap and a chaser? Could I use a tap to clear the threads?

I think I'm gonna end up just using a tap. I can't find a 1/4" pipe thread chaser ANYWHERE

I just got the intake manifold powdercoated, so I'm thinking that debris got in the threads. I had a really hard time getting any of the fittings started, and the one I was able to get going I sheared off.

Didn't work for very long today, but I actually made a little bit of progress. I managed to remove the EGR pipe, I finally got to it using 9 inches of extensions and a universal joint haha. I also got the other AIR fitting off and got a couple chunks of the AIR pipe cut out, and I got caps to go on the AIR fittings on the headers. Looking forward to getting a lot done tomorrow!

I may have a bit of an issue. I unplugged my spark plug wires when I was going to replace the opti...when I was plugging one of them back in, one of them didn't want to click back into place. I took it back off to look at it, and this is what I found:
can I pull the middle of it back out? Or do I have to get a new wire?
