  • Did some more research about the MAF thing today...saw something about a 20 amp Engine Sensor fuse that could cause it. Got home today, popped the hood, had a look, sure as heck. Blown fuse. Gotta love easy fixes

The employees at O'Reilly know me. Even worse, when I went tonight, one commented that he almost didn't recognize me without my hat on.

    • Also, I've got a lead on a brand new set of BMR swaybars for $250 shipped. Yay or nay?

        Id say Nay.

IMO you have to really be driving the wheels off your car for a lowered fbody to see an advantage in getting different sway bars. I know MSU Racing does auto x so maybe it would be helpful, but no way I would spend that kind of money on it. Thats 1/8th of a cam swap.

I sure hope you mean heads and cam swap

I'd pass on those sway bars.

Id budget 2k to do a cam swap the right way... Thats what I spent on mine.

But i don't agree with sway bars not helping on a lowered car. Nate your car handles superbly as it is, but I think sway bars will make a very noticeable difference for you still. My spohn front sway bar completely changed the feel of my car all by itself. $250 seems like a "fair" price... i wouldnt call it a bargain.

            • Did my heads/cam swap for $1200 - new everything. I'd never pay that kind of money for a bump stick swap I think my entire engine build was under 2k

Will they only sell as a kit? Like Joel stated, just the front bar would make the most difference

              • Get what you pay for. My build exceeded the expectations of the manufacturer that ground the cam

                  Another thread sidetracked? Yup.

I admit I left my dutch skills at the door on that build... but I invite you to see how it compares to a cam only car

                    • I guess now that Brent's car is running you guys need to find another thread to blow up?

To be honest, a cam swap isn't in the plans. Eventually, with another car, but not now and not with this car.

I was looking for sway bars, and this was the cheapest set of aftermarket ones I could find anywhere.

                      • I'm bored, and your thread is as good of a place as any to shoot the

I was going to say that I'd upgrade the brakes first, but I see now that you've already done that. That's a pretty good price for new sway bars...but how are the summit lowering springs treating you? Not sure what their spring rates are

                        • I actually took the Summit springs out of the rear. Sat too low and the ride was beyond awful. Running stock springs and heater hose mod in the rear at the moment. I'm very pleased with the stance and the ride quality, though I haven't done any autocross with this setup yet.

                          • Front sway bar is 32mm, rear is 23 mm:

stock Z28 sway bars are 30/19, WS6/1LE sway bars are 32/19

                            • Why wouldn't you just pick up a SS/WS6 sway bar if they are the same size? They can be had for CHEAP.

because I didn't realize what the size was for SS/WS6 sway bars was before I started researching it this morning
