well so much for that idea. A tune will probably still happen at some point for the reasons mentioned above.
I guess now I just have to decide if I want to fix the lifter issue in the month I'm home or if I want to just wait to do it after the m&g

Yeah with full bolt ons. You just have headers and true duals and a cold air intake pretty much.Originally posted by alone_and_insane View Postboo

well, what am I missing then? longtubes, deleted cats, true duals with x-pipe, CAI, tb airfoil...does "full bolt-ons" include things like injectors and stuff like that?Originally posted by Fox Slaughter View PostYeah with full bolt ons. I thought that those don't really do any good with a stock cam, because you're sucking in more air but the intake valves aren't open long enough to get that extra air into the cylinder.

Heads aren't exactly a bolt on. Anything that touches oil isn't a bolt with rockers being the exception IMO.Originally posted by hoogiesngrinderz View Postadd intake and heads to that list.
A full bolt on car would be Intake, Full exhaust, CAI, Converter, rockers, EWP, Throttle body, ect. I'm not exactly familiar with LT1's.
I personally would get a tune. Its one of the most important things to a build but is consistently over looked for whatever reason. Plus most tuners will cut you a good deal on a retune. I know my tuner does.Last edited by c0ncEpT; March 12th, 2012, 02:53 PM.

I'd get a tune after you fix the issue with the car. Why tune a car not performing correctly?sigpic

My heads never touched oil...until I started it up
I've always thought of them as a bolt on but I can see your point.

You could do the "JoeliusZ28" intake mod. He went from the same intake you have to it and he said there was noticeably more power, and if you sell the slp intake, you should be money ahead

Admittedly the idea of getting a tune right away was sort of a knee-jerk reaction to finding out there's actually a place close by. The more I think about it, the more I realize that there's other stuff that needs to happen first.Originally posted by Darren View PostI'd get a tune after you fix the issue with the car. That would be ironic, considering my SLP intake is the one that Joel replaced with the lidOriginally posted by jetice View PostYou could do the "JoeliusZ28" intake mod. I don't think I'll do it, but it's something I'll keep in mind.

So I've got good news and bad news.
The good news: I just ordered new rims!
The bad news: they won't be on the car until I get home in May
