so what brands should I be looking at? I don't really know anything about what tires are best. I'd be getting high performance summer tires.

I think the best deal out there are the BF Goodrich KDW2's... they have a flame-like tread and supposedly hook decently. That or a lot of people go with Nitto 555R's as a drag radial. Really depends on your budget.

That car is looking really good! Give what sean said a try with the heater hose mod, should give it the perfect stance.

Also i dont know what the price point is on them, but i am very happy with my riken raptor (bought the set used).

I have the Nitto 555R and Riken Raptors.
The Nittos do hook better then the Rikens, however, for a street tire the Rikens are hard to beat for the money.

I think I paid like $85.00 each.

So while procrastinating today, I found there's a guy that is experienced tuning LTx engines near my hometown in WI. I originally wasn't going to do a tune yet, but with this being so close, I'm really tempted. My car's pushing 150k and has a bad lifter that I haven't fixed. Do you guys think it's worth getting a tune done? My plans for the month between graduation and starting work are currently rims/tires and a couple minor aesthetic mods.

I would say only get a tune if you have something that will be noticeable. Vats acting up, turning SES light off, Skip Shift, etc. I wouldnt get one done just to get one done.

The SES light is always on because I have no rear O2 sensors and the EGR doesn't seem to be working (I replaced the bad hose, but the code doesn't go away). And I'm shooting for 300 hp, and I think a tune will help me get the rest of the way there.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I'm realizing that's what I should do. Not to mention it would be better for me to get a tune around Detroit so I can still take it back if anything else comes up (same reason I'm waiting to get tint until after I've moved). So what would replacing lifters all entail? Pretty much taking off the entire top end, right?

I've heard of LT1s with full bolt-ons and a tune reaching 300whp. Or is that a crock of crap?

Im thinking so.... B's cammed 355 is making around 320-330rwhp IIRC

Yeah, right around 325rwhp depending on the dyno and weather.
