The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. Also, what are you doing for the grounds, since the LS harness has seperate grounds
Sorry, I'm not skirting this question.
I actually missed 2 grounds on mine
The LS 1 does run separate grounds for the MAP, TPS, IAT, and ECT.
There are pins to ground them in the LS1 PCM.
You have to rewire the grounds separate to the LS1 PCM.
So LS1 pins need separate grounds run because they are not there in the LT1 harness:
Blue 53 (auto only)
Blue 54
Blue 61
Blue 80

soooo, you're taking an lt1 harness and converting it to an lt1 harness that runs off of an ls1 computer?
No... just modifying an LT1 harness by repinning it. You will totally ditch the opti and end up with an LS-style ignition with 1 coil pack per cylinder. Opti is totally gone

Remember folks stop lights timed for 35mph are also timed for 70mph.

Like Ryan said I'm taking a LT1 harness and repining it into a LS1 computer.
This will totaly eliminate the Opti and give me the coils from the LS1 god's
And I'll be going from like 16 bit's per sec to 24 bit's per second in computer speed

I finished up my grounds just to find that I had a few more than I thought
LT 1 pins Red 1 & Clear 32 are a Black w/ White stripe wire that needs to be grounded separate.
I took these and will ground them to the block with an eyelet.
LT1 pins Red 18 and Blue 1 are a Tan w/ white stripe and don't need to be touched and will ground to the factory position on the block by the drivers head.
Coolant Temp Ground - I followed this wire to a junction and clipped it and then extended the ground to the PCM pining it to LS1 Blue Pin 80
TPS ground - This was grounded when I followed the LS1 Pin-out sheet so I didn't have to mess with it.
IAT - Did the same with this wire, followed it to where it joined the junction and clipped it, extended it and pined it to LS1 Red pin 57.
This pin is also comes up more than once on the pin-out pg.
It's LT1 pin Black 16 so watch out for it.
MAP - This was pined with the EFI Pin-out sheet but did need to be clipped and joined half way.
This Ground was shared and in a Black w/ Yellow Stripe Junction (may not be the same on your car) in the harness and was with the 2 A/C grounds. New Uploads 135.jpg
By clipping all the grounds and making the separate the A/C plugs had no ground so I clipped it off New Uploads 136.jpg

I was thinking the same thing. All this time and effort and you're using just standard butt connectors? At least go with some heat shrink butt connectors!

I would definately go back and solder all connections and use heat shrink over soldered connections. Crimp connections are very risky because of heat and cold expansion and contraction and different metals. wire=copper crimps=alum. Kyle that just my opinion, I would never trust crimp connectors.

Never had an issue with crimping. Its not like its a winter car or anything. Maybe he is doing it for a test then going to solder it? Lets not draw conclusions.

having a stereo blink out is a little different than having an engine doing that...
