Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
11.1:1? Psh
91+ octane on a LT1 will do 12.5:1 with a good tune.
You've gone big on the cam, go big on compression 12.1:1
Then you'll walk all over Joel.
What who said that?

Haha i'm not really competitive i just like going fast and having fun. And Joels car will always be cooler to me. And the problem is the valve to piston clearance ill run into going that high with compression

He said it will end up being 10.75:1 and that if we go 12.1:1 i would have to run 110 race gas. And i found out today that my stock crank is junk so the forged 3.75 crank and forged rods and pistons got ordered today there goes another couple grand lol

not true, you can push 12:1 if not 12.5:1 out 93 octane on an EFI setup if the tune is dialed in precisely. I have 11.5:1 with no issues. You can get close to 11:1 just using impala gaskets.

That's what i thought! Maybe its different with other sbc's? Should i just tell him to build it to have at least 11.5:1? I mean i'm building a fully forged 383 with fully ported heads and that big voodoo cam. I Mean ill be honest i know higher compression helps but i don't know alot about it. Is it good if i wanted to spray eventually?

I believe there is a rule of thumb for determining the best plug to run, but I use TR6s in mine with the 11.5:1 compression and it likes those better than the stock plug which would compare to a TR55.
I'm thinking so i dont go to crazy i will prob go with the same compression as you Joel and run tr6's. I don't want to go over 12 cause i dont want to run into tuning issues.
