I know what you mean man, hence why it took so long to get it painted! Doing the motor is a whole another thing for me! Hang in there its coming together man and looking good

                    • Hard work pays off. You'll get it done, you're already most of the way there now that you've got the cam/heads installed and the motor back in the car. Sorry about forgetting the pushrod checker. I also forgot my pillow and a helmet at home.

                      • will my stock injectors max out with the 228/230 .587 112lsa cam? will my car even start and run when its back together, or will it instantly need to be tuned? i dont plan on driving it to the dyno, but was just wondering if it will move itself outta the garage? lol. i picked up the rest of my gaskets today so all i need now is pushrods and a stall. getting close!

                        • Well lucky enough with both of our cars being 98's we got heavier injectors from the factory. My 230/230 doesn't max out my injectors. It will idle very roughly if you have the PCV completely set up right, unlike me who forgot the PCV valve which actually worked in my favor creating a huge vacuum leak that allowed the motor to idle smoothly at 1,000rpm.

By the way does anyone know if an AFR of 12.1:1 at WOT is bad? I'm pretty sure that's what mine's tuned to and some idiot I know says it's way too rich. Just wondering.

                            • Oh yeah that's right. Well in that case i'd just stick some tape under the TB bumpstop to hold it open a little, just enough to get it idling right when you're in gear.

                              • so it will only be an idle issue at first? possibly safe to drive to dyno to be tuned? i dont think id trust it though.
