Yeah, mine is 3420 w/o driver. Thats pretty light. 60lbs lighter that normal. Congrats. I know i lost a bunch of weight losing the factory manifolds, cats, and exhaust. Eric L

Well, got lots done in the past couple days, my buddy helped a ton, so we got the interior ripped apart pretty quick.

          Center counsel out

          Pretty nasty!

Next was the seat belts and the back seats

          2 minutes later.....Carpet is out

Found some random bolts and also some rust.

What is this? It is mounted behind drivers rear seat.

Stuff is starting to pile up!

Took the rear seat brackets out

          Rear seat brackets

Also took out the rear seatbelts, and i will be taking out the rear seat belt brackets and also the brackets where the rear seats bolt into. It isn't going to be much weight but it will make the carpet fit much better when i put it back in. I plan on pretreating the carpet and scrubbing it, then powerwashing it. Then extracting the water out. This should make it look pretty new! (i detail, this is what we do for floor mats).

I think Im going to go get it weighed again tonight. Just for shits and giggles, I plan on putting the carpet back in and also the plastics.

Can i cut off the bracket for the spare tire? Or drill out the resistant welds?

A manual valve body TH350 would be light, so would a 10" 4200 converter, lol, mmmmm tasty. Eric L

The part mounted to the rear seat area is the plug for the rear end and I think the fuel pump.

Yes, lots of work to do, but I have plenty of time to do it.

After I fix the body, I have 2 choices...

                            A) Take it to the track and see how good of a E.T I can get with it being close to stock, previous owner got best of 14.1. with 2.1 60's. But I want MY own time slip.

                            B) Rip the engine out. Cam/ Maybe heads/ Intake, LT's, Dumped TD's, Electric water pump, plugs, Trans work (costly?), suspension. Leave the rear until i goes.

                            Suggestions?

Here is a list of parts I am going to need. Now just because im listing it, doesn't mean if you have it ill jump on it. These are some parts I am going to get overtime. I am still a broke college kid

                            STOCK hood (doesn't matter color)
                            Plastic headlight holder
Smooth elbow for intake (prefer metal aftermarket one)
Stock corners (ill trade my clears straight up)
Passenger side seat belt thingy (keeps the seatbelt out of you face, screws into the seat)
LT's (the cheaper the better)(supporting stuff, o2 extentions etc)
                            Any suspension parts (aftermarket)
Trans build kit? (dont know anything about this)
Down the road (cam prolly the GM847, Stall ~2500ish, LT4 worth it?, supporting cam mods (1.6rr's, gaskets, hardend pushrods etc)
                            TD's dumped (cheaper the better)
                            Electric water pump
                            A/C delete belt
                            UDP (worth it?)
Pillar guages w/ 2 guage pod
                            CAI
                            Slicks
                            Light gray headliner (no ttops)

I am trying to keep the outside as sleeper as possible, I have my 99 LS1 for the looks (i know its backwards, but the 99 is in MUCH better shape)

I plan on getting the car weighed before I do any weight reduction and then getting it weighed after.

The A/C will be deleted, inner fender skirts will have quite a bit cut away, probably leave interior stock.

                            Questions:

Will my Pro kit fit on the LT1? If so I will most likly put that on there and get strano or something for the LS1.

I want to take the center counsel apaprt to see how much crap is under it, I am going to extract the carpets. Anythign to worry about? How do I get the shift handel/button off?

                            Any sugestions??
Idk if this helps but im getting a new hood for mine maybe ss idk yet tho but if you havent got a new hood by then mine will be up for sale it just has a few stone chips and rash from a bra that came on the car. Just thought I would let you know.

when i pulled mine all the way up when i took my console out it snapped under the car where the two cables meet .
