If you run a good set of speakers running an amp would be a great idea they will sound better and great more bass. But if your not to picky on audio then it aint worth it. I personally love my exhaust note

      • I dont think youll find an amp necessary. My system cranks pretty loud as it is with just the 2 speakers & head unit. Yes an amp will sound better... but to me not worth all the weight and headache.

I did however pay attention the RMS wattage rating on my head unit. Bought the highest wattage i could find, and it was still only a $100 pioneer unit.

        • Okay glad to hear. I just know my setup I have now sounds really tingy. I'm going to install the head unit today and see if it changes anything. Then I'll go from there on getting new speakers or not.

What's the cheapest place to get some rear "camaro" letters for the tail panel? I'm going to sand the whole panel down, put the letters on then clear over them. eBay?

Got the cd player hooked up. What acquaint disaster the original owed had in it. Cleaned that up and made it nice and neat. My installation kit the black trim was cracked all to hell and glued back together so I'm going to pick up a new one today. It sounds sooo much better, I'm not even going to worry about speakers anytime soon.

                • I finally was able to switch back to the old photobucket so here are the pics and update I have been lacking.

My way of tighting up my band clamps on my exhaust-

Side view of the new trans pan-

                  Current state-

                  We got fuel pressure!!

New Pioneer head unit. Back in the high school days I was real into car audio, I NEVER have bought a brand new cd player. I always bought my friends hand me downs... Finally I got a new one so I'm pretty geeked about it. It made the audio sooo much better.

Tomorrow I am picking up TJ's (Fox Slaughter) rearend and aluminum driveshaft. Should be a nice difference over my 2.73s.

Wednesday after work my friend and I are going to drop my rear.

Anything I should do to the "new" rearend before it goes back in? I really don't want to put more money than needed into it.

This. The girdles look great too, IMO.

Love the look of mine, but they aren't "cheap". I really don't think they add too much strength, more for looks if you ask me.

                            • Screw the girdle, so pointless on a 10 bolt. Paint it and throw some fresh gear oil in it, done.

                              • Im a believer in the TA girdle, at least on 6 speed applications. Granted i have a sledgehammer of a clutch, but i noticed a clear difference in the "thud" sound that came from my 10 bolt when side stepping the clutch. Could be all mental or just better insulation of a sound, but i recall it sounded less likely to come apart after adding it. In a perfect world i would have a gusset kit to go along with it, and there is a lot of supporting results around those.
