I wish. They should be baked to make the paint stick better but I've got no where that they'd fit. I was actually tempted to take a heat gun to the headers to "bake" the paint for a bit.

      • I would try to bake them with a heat gun, because I painted mine with the same paint and the paint is pretty cracked all around already. I even used a high temp primer to to help it stick...

        • Thanks for the heads up. I talked to the guy at Murrays where I bought it and he used it on his motorcycle headers. He baked his and it's been 2 years and he says the paint is still mint.

          • bake em' or try the heat gun. Even the POR-20 I put on my headers is flaking and I can assure you its better than the VHT stuff.

              • It's still on but it might not be an engine install going on.

                  • Well, looks like I'm back to just doing the engine install on Thursday [tomorrow]. My lead I had on LS1Tech for an LT4 hot cam and spring kit for $200 now has someone else buying the parts (though the guy hasn't paid and I said I have cash in hand ready to buy the parts) and the Craigslist ad that I saw for LT4 cam is just that - not the hot cam. Really disappointed - now would have been the perfect time to do a cam swap while the engine is out but oh well...

                        • The VHT site says you can cure the paint while on the car by idling it for like 20 mins, then letting it cool, then another 10mins or something.
                          They look very nice though.
