Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
I look at it this way
If your in for some spirited driving cruising in 3rd puts you closer to the powerband and when the car downshifts it has less gears to go through.
As for accelerating from a stop there should be no difference.
One reason is because the trans won't shift into 4th (OD) at WOT anyway.

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
"For you who believe all you read, I caution you - you are daily being brainwashed for profit by extremely effective psychology with very little regard to factual accuracy. In short, you're at the mercy of the world's greatest bullshit artists with the morals of a stray tomcat." - Smokey Yunick
Well, my thought behind is that you definitely have more down low torque in 1st gear than 2nd, more in 2nd than 3rd... I'll try and find some data to support what I've been told, I'm just going off of what Dan told me. I mentioned it to Steve over the phone and he confirmed it - said to always have it in 3rd when you're playing around on the street.
Well looks like it never ends, this weekend or next week, depends when pump comes looks like we will be installing new fuel pump! You know Brian, there will be many pics.

Yeah, when we dynoed the car it had a linear AFR going from fat to lean. Dr Phil was doing the dyno and he thought it could be the fuel pump. Since it's still the v6 fuel pump in there and (as far as I know) it's the original with the car... it's just a good time to replace it. That and the fuel filter. So, hopefully we'll get both of those swapped and then there literally is nothing on this car that we haven't touched or replaced and she should (hopefully) be good for a long time!!!
Plus most importantly, Steve said it'd be a good idea to replace those before he finishes the tune - no sense in tuning it if the fuel pump is not able to give enough fuel.
I know several peeps that have done it and it has saved them time and money more than once.

Yeah... Big THUMBS DOWN to Thunder Racing. I will NEVER order from them again. It's been almost a week and I haven't even so much as gotten a confirmation that they've received my order - all I got was the confirmation that paypal sent them my $150 I e-mailed them already asking for a status update and alas no reply.
Go figure - they JUST sent me an e-mail telling me the pump shipped today (It takes them 5 full business days to ship an item? ) and I should be receiving the shipping confirmation tonight. Remind me to only order through Creight.
