    • Really, if you can get diamond tipped or carbide tipped blades that'd probably cut a hell of a lot better.
Ya the Carbide ones kick ass!!
      That is all I use

That Kroil will climb a bolt if you dip it in it.
      It's wild stuff!

      B, a note on torches:
The Yellow bottles will run hotter than the Blue bottles but your torch head has to be one that can run both.
I believe it will have a 4000 on it but I can't remember right off hand.

      • B, the bay looks good! Check my thread for my results. Those tiny paint cans suck dont they? I used black primer because i have a case of it, and white doesnt cover black well. I used 2 cans(exact same stuff your using) and STILL didnt have enough to completely cover it, I ran out before I could even touch the whole back of my core support and by the fuse boxes. And personally im not liking the tip either....

Keep us update regarding the rust issue.

Sneezing paint dust? Dude, atleast wear a half mask, im always wearing my half mask at minimum when painting, but I prefer my full mask. I work at a painting company, paint is seriously dangerous stuff, and the way aerosol atomizes, makes it worse. If i were you Id go to the hardware and at least get a paper one that goes over your mouth and nose.

Dont mean to give you a hard time but health is important, a cool car aint shit if your dieing of cancer or too sick to drive it.

Anyway, do you know if we can get the paint in bigger cans? The duplicolor book I had said it was availible in .5 oz and 5.5oz(the cans were using) nothing bigger. Im going to check around tomorrow and see if I cant get something more economical, ill let you know if I find anything.

              • Cool - let me know. I could've SWORN I had used bigger cans before but Murrays redid their aisles and the paint section seems smaller now.

And yeah, I hardly ever use face masks.

                  I generally don't either...

...but I don't paint engine bays. The biggest thing I painted was the replacement center bar for my Camaro - and I just held my breath (or I'd exit the enclosed garage when I had to breathe).

                  Likewise when I Niteshaded.

                    • I love it when the UPS man shows up! Haha and my dad wasn't kidding about talking to him - we opened the garage and showed him the project and talked for about 15 minutes or so. He's got a '67 Nova or Chevelle or something.. can't remember what he said, but he was really into our project and wanted to see it done.

First, I took pictures of the engine bay:

I needed new rear sway bar bushings and end links and I figured... WTF if I'm going to spend so much on getting the end links and bushings, I might as well get a whole new rear sway bar, right?

ARP head bolts after Craig THANKFULLY mentioned that torque-to-yield bolts can't be reused...

                      Stage 8 locking header bolts:

First new fuel filter this car has had since I bought it in 2002...
