  • I woke up at 10:15.

Just ate, checking forum posts, then I'm gonna head out there.

Not a whole lot more I can do without this wideband or belt tool.

Lucky you I've been at work for almost 3 hours when you just got up! Whats the word on the wideband and the tool are you getting them?

          • Ugh - I probably should be working on the car, but it's so cold out...and I really don't have much else to do...

Tested the reservoir - no leaks that I saw.

Stupid paint flaked off the retainer ring on the cap, though...oh well.

                • Didn't really do much today. Ordered the tensioner tool, hopefully that'll be here before the end of the week, but who knows anymore.

                  My car is filthy...

Modified LSJ engine lift bracket (tensioner tool needs this):

                  Installed:

Doesn't fit completely flush on the engine-side face, which just means the opening is tilted a little forward - should be fine:

                  Location of coolant reservoir bracket:

                  Screwed on:

I would've had the coolant reservoir on, but the RTV didn't hold it enough and the fitting ripped out when I went to put the hose on...I'll have to be careful this next time...

                      Yeah, possibly...

Looks like the tensioner tool should arrive on Friday. Maybe I'll try and get the car back together as much as possible before then...

Maybe the Wideband will come in too...

                        • Yup went and checked out the progress tonight for a few min. It really is coming along quite nicely. Should be a car that surprises a lot of people.

I suggested to kyle to use a 2-part epoxy for hard plastics that hardens rather than RTV for that reservoir. Any one else have any thoughts on this?

I'm seriously considering that. If the fitting comes out again, which it will, I'll get some epoxy, set it up, and then maybe RTV around that...

                              • They make an RTV that gets hard, there are 3 kinds IIRC, 2 that stay gelly and 1 that hardens.
