There have been some guys on ls1tech using that ls9 cam with pretty good success as well as the 02 Z06 cam. You'd be much better off with a cam swap but I guess the ls9 cams are pretty cheap too.

So I am thinking about changing my cam set-up to a ls9 cam. I think thee is a little bit of work that will need to be done but I think it would be a step in the right direction for the boosted application. I have a stock ls1 cam in it now but I think the ls9 setup would be better for what I am looking for in a street car. I would like to keep it as much of a sleeper as possible. Which of the 2 cams would be better in your opinion?

There is a lot of room between the ic and the radiator. I would say at least 6-10". Plus I have my fans pushing instead of pulling thru the radiator. I think it should be good. I can't wait to get back and get to working on it.

How much room between the intercooler and the radiator? There has to be enough room there for the radiator to pull air from underneath. Bringing the intercooler as far forward as you can is your best option. Its hard to tell from the picture. Looks good though. You're way ahead of my build now.

So I got the intercooler mounted into the bumper, and now I am working on the cold side pluming. I have everything measured up and I will be cutting the tubing I have and welding it up. I would ike to use as little silicone joints as possible. Not that I am looking to run big boost numbers, but they are the first things to leak. So I will be welding it all up. Next will be the wiring.
Let me know what you think.

Well I thought I had the exhaust done but it looks like it will need a little more tweaking. Hanging a little low. But no big deal, cut it and re weld it in the right spot. Here it is fresh off the welding table.

Yes, I will be wrapping the entire hot side, and the exhaust from the turbo out of the engine bay.

Hey everyone, I thought I would post up some pic.s of what I have gotten done in the last month or so. I was actually hoping to get more done on the car, but work gets in the way sometimes as we all know. This weekend I an working on mounting the FMIC. I have cut the bumper support to fit the cooler into it, and now I am in the process of making the brackets to hang it from.
Int the pics you will see what I have done with the hot side, as well as the exhaust out of the engine bay. I will have to cut the exhaust and tweak it because it is hanging to low for my taste. If your gonna do it, do it right the first, well ok the second or the third time! lol. I also have the radiator in and I mounted up the fans that I am running.

Oh I almost forgot. I have been almost finished with the rear suspension for a while now. But my original pan hard brace was a little rusty and I couldn't get the bolt out when I took it off. So I cut it off. Well, I couldn't find one, and I don't have a tubing bender. Founders to the rescue, I ordered on this week. great price and just what I need. Its on its way.

Well, I thought I would have been further along by now. But, I got to the intercooler tonight. Cut out the bumper to fit it(gotta love plasma cutters). I rad to remove just enough of the back side to fit the intercooler and keep all the mounting points for the bumper cover, oh and the fog light brackets. I am hoping that I can get it on the lift tomorrow so I can get the intercooler mounted, and get to work on the cold side. Looks like I will get to learn how to big weld aluminum. SWEET!
I'm getting closer and closer to this.
I will be posting some more pic.s this weekend.

Well I worked on it all weekend and finally got the exhaust to where I want it. Just waiting on a muffler now. Going stainless Dynomax race bullet to a turn down in front of the rearend.
Oh, yeah I almost forgot about my KORE3 flexcore brake lines, I only got the fronts for my brake conversion. I will be geting the rears when I convert the 9" from drums to ls1 disc's.
I also got the new radiator in and mounted the electric fans to it. I an gonna have to be pretty creative on the hoses since the hot side is pretty close to the drivers side outlet of the radiator. I think a rubber 90 to a aluminum tube to another 90. Ah I will show you what I'm talking about when I get there.
I did get the hot side completely finished this weekend.
    Everything fits. CHECK
Waste gate plumbed into the exhaust. CHECK
3 O2 bungs fitted and welded in place. CHECK
Now I will get to work on the cold side(hopefully get that done this week) then its on to the wiring and this thing should be rollin! I will keep my fingers crossed!
