Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
Hm, I view a lot bigger stuff than that with my workstation here at work normally.
Thanks! Going to probably wall it off somewhere (the area with the lift) and insulate and heat that. I kind of want to do the whole thing, but its more upfront cost, and more cost to heat. So we shall see.
Darren, the CJ is mine 1978 CJ-7 with an AMC 304 and T150 3 Speed
Thanks Darren, my grandfather bought it new December 30th 1977, it was his until about 4 years ago when he passed. I kind of inherited it, threw a few grand at it restoring it, and thats what you see today. I took it down to bare metal did some body work and resprayed it the factory color. Its really in astonishing shape considering. Factory origonal 86,000 miles with the factory seats, carpet, all gauges, engine, trans, etc. The interior is like a time machine! I have the original hard top that came with it, but havent finished redoing that yet.
damn that place looks great what a hell of a base for one badass workshop.
Thanks! I really love it out there! Ill fire up the computer, start Pandora then find a little project to do for a few hours. It will be a great hide-away for later down the road when I piss off the wife! Haha! Got to find a woman first though!
My dad is loving it too, we used to have barn twice this size before we moved into the city, hes got all sorts of ideas and stuff. Always finding ways for me to spend money out there.
It's the site - it has a set width and won't expand even though the images get wider. You have to right click and select to open the image in a new tab or window to see the full size.
That said - thanks for sharing the pics, Spencer! I feel like I'm living vicariously through you and Tony (Hugger SS). You guys have awesome pole barns.
Well, I had a brake issue that required some attention Saturday night. I got the brakes put back together last night and took the wheel to be re-balanced today (stupid stick on weights came off).
I picked it up after lunch and was not real happy. I had THOROUGHLY cleaned it, inside and out every nook and cranny before I took it to them and got it back filthy. The guy that loaded it in my car, his gloves were all greasy and the wheel face was a mess. I was pissed but didnt argue, just loaded it and left.
Just trying to clean the face of it out in the barn now before remouting it, its scratched. All the way around the lip, like it was sitting on its face, and there is a chip in it as well just inside the lip. I am LIVID! I just paid a bunch of money last year to have these done (and a TON of my time sandblasting them) and now this one is wrecked. I was going to throw it on anyway for tonight (wanted to take the car out with a friend) but noticed a bigger problem....
The ****ing thing is DENTED! A whole 3-4in section of the lip is dented, like pushed out. There is a noticeably larger gap between the rim and the tire in that area. I dont even know how they got it to balance.
My dad is very good friends with the manager there, buys all of his tires for work from there. He however, was not there yesterday. My dad is taking the wheel over there today to discuss it with them.
The tire should have never come off the rim. It really doesnt look like it was pulled off to be honest, however there is black crap (greasey oily stuff) around the bead, like they lubed it to get it back on or something. I did not ask when I picked it up weather they did or not when I picked it up, just assuming they didnt, as it should not have been required. It was just filthy dirty and I needed to get back to work so I didnt want to get into it with them.
Im not so much worried about straightening the lip, it can be done (I dont have mad skills, but I guarenty with a few body hammers and 15 it could look like it never happened. The problem is the whole thing is going to need to be re powdercoated, which means getting all the old powder off. I work hard to keep them clean, and for them to come back dirty seems a little disrespectful to your customer, maybe just ignorance. But for them to come back being chipped and scratched, thats just wrong.
Im not really sure how or what they did, the guy that unloaded it for me was VERY nice, admired the KDWS, and carefully set it up against the wall and walked me inside and got my info. I came back 3 or so hours later and that guy wasnt there, and the guy that loaded it had to look for it. Didnt take him long, but the fact that this place isnt that big and he didnt know where it was scared me. He loaded it and I was on my way.
