On the battery side of things, when you put it back to the back, make sure she's grounded real good to the frame (larger ground strap(s)). The load put on the battery to start, given the longer wire makes a very hard hit to the battery with a run of the mill kind of ground. Had a friend that has nothing but trouble with his same mod, till he put in actually a few grounds. On the engine side, the only thing that would throw a caution flag is all the taping. Hopefully everything is soldered/shrink wrapped (I wouldn't expect less, just putting it out there).sigpic
Why the Hell do I have to press 1 for english?!

Battery is back in stock location with stock wiring.. Until I get the problem figured out I am leaving it there.. I know there is a ground issue with the relocation setup and I will address it after it runs again...Originally posted by steddy View PostOn the battery side of things, when you put it back to the back, make sure she's grounded real good to the frame (larger ground strap(s)). Dustin(Alwaysmessedup) stopped by today.. We hooked up the scanner I borrowed and it showed no data.. Eventually we got some data, MAP was reading 27.7 with the key on engine off(Dustin couldn't recall for sure, but he thought that number should be much higher). Started car, MAP never changed(stayed at 27.7) and MAF read nothing, nor did the O2's.. Pretty sure I have a bad ground and that it is behind the intake. Reason being, the car ran fine before I pulled the intake. Thinking I must of unhooked or broke a ground and missed it when I re-installed intake.. Guess I will wait for it to get warm again and pull the intake and see what I find..sigpic

Some sensors won't read anything until the engine goes into closed loop. Depending on how long it ran for, it could have just been in open loop.Originally posted by OIF1VET View PostDustin(Alwaysmessedup) stopped by today.. I'll give it a shot..Originally posted by Plum Nuts View Postmaybe if you use a mirror you could find or see a loose grd wire.
Still lean to bad ground as my battery relocation also quit working after I had the intake off.. No power to the front, which leads me back to a bad ground..Originally posted by shawnc16 View PostSome sensors won't read anything until the engine goes into closed loop. i dont recall any grounds on or behind the intake except for those bolted to the back of the heads. guess you could have broke one or pulled the wire out but i doubt it. hopefully you will find time soon to take it back out and take a look. good luck. i think its about time to invest in a heater for the garagesigpic

Well I know there is one on the drivers side head, which runs to the harness and splices on with the PCM ground.. Not sure what else is back there.. All I know is the car ran fine, until I pulled the intake for paint(battery relocation was also fine until I pulled the intake). Which leads me to believe, I broke or disconnected something back there... I still remember disconnecting something and saying to myself "must remember to plug this back in". I'm thinking I forgot, but for the life of me can't remember what it was.. Lost too many brain cells in the 70's...Originally posted by Formula Z View Posti dont recall any grounds on or behind the intake except for those bolted to the back of the heads. guess you could have broke one or pulled the wire out but i doubt it. hopefully you will find time soon to take it back out and take a look. good luck. i think its about time to invest in a heater for the garagesigpic
