98 car 7 pin connector - three wires for the tank pressure sensor, two wires for the pump, and two wires for the fuel level sender. The two wire connector is for the fuel tank evaporator control solenoid.

(Pulling this from the top of my head. I haven't slept much lately so I could be off)

Edit: Earlier cars with three wire connector were 12v +, ground, and fuel level sender.

Oh ffs. All this bs about the evap, and I cant run the damn thing anyways? Mike do you have any idea how I rectify this situation? I thought the solenoid was at the engine, I didnt know there was another in the tank. So, Im going to have to drop this tank....again...
How do I make this work in my 94?

If you have the 98 donor car you may have to change the harness inside the car that runs back to the tank.

Even if I could separate that section from the rest of the harness where would I plug it in? I don't think its necessary to transfer the entire wiring harness from the other car. I haven't read anyone else doing that. I am pretty sure there's a work around I just cant seem to locate it on the old intertubes.

In 98+ fuel level signal is sent to ECM which then sends voltage to the IP cluster.

99+ tanks combine the canister and vent valve onto the tank. 98 has the vent valve near the connectors that come through behind the left rear seat and the canister is tucked towards the rear of the car IIRC. All have purge valve on the intake.

I thought you were going to swap the entire harness over. It might be possible to wire up the LT1 EVAP canister and such but I have never looked into it.

I was trying to simplify things.....I normally manage to ruin the fuel level sensor when I open things up and was trying to avoid that.
I believe what I am going to do now is move the fuel pump and regulator from the 98 over to the 94 tank. I am still looking to see if this is a viable option. The 94 uses the vented cap, the 98 doesnt so that wont work.
Or, I am going to have to delete the evap and the pressure sensor. from the 98 tank and figure out what wires are the ground and sender pos. and the pump pos. Then rewire it to fit the 94.
Currently the plan is to use the 94 tank so I dont have venting problems. I just need to find out if the pump and regulator will fit in it and on it.

EDIT : 94 does not use a vented cap, it vents through the charcoal canister.

i was under the impression that all you needed to do was swap to a LS (i'm using a c5) fuel pressure regulater and you could use the stock tank/pump setup from the '94 with the LS.

not enough pressure from the stock 94 pump. ls needs 58 psi. I could be wrong, it happens a lot lately, but there isnt much info on it. The 98 uses a in tank regulator the 94 is on the fuel rail. You can use the rails from a 97 vette. but I already have the stuff from the 98 camaro so thats how I am going. I had wanted to keep the evap system at first, thats why I went with the whole tank, but the car lacks the wiring to support it. So thats not going to work.

Ok, I'm using a racetronics pump, fast rails, and a c5 FPR.

Well that was a big fail. there isnt a barb on the return line on the sender for the regulator to clip to so. I had to come up with another plan. I took the 98 sender and deleted everything not related to the pump and fuel Gage sender. That left me with 4 wires , black, black w/white stripe, purple, grey. grey is power for the pump, black is ground, blackw/white stripe is Gage sender ground purple is signal from the sender. So I combined the black and blackw/white stripe to give me 3 matching wires for my set up. soldered in the pigtail from the old tank and that oughta do it!
                        Now for reassembly!

                          Update:

Tank and shielding has been re installed, along with the rear suspension. Engine and trans have been reunited(and it feels so good) with a new 3000 converter between them. Looks like today will be fitment and front suspension day!
Wiring guru says, should be today or tomorrow for the harness. I might be ready to fire this thing up by weeks end.....if I can find someone to reprogram my pcm that is....need to make some calls on that.
