That's exactly my problem. I'm at the very very limit of my budget with the labor of the trans install. That I can just squeeze in the ring and pin themselves and install kit, literally 0 money for installing. Extremely frustrating. Which is why I'm contemplating driving on 2:73s until I save up again..Originally posted by hoogiesngrinderz View PostThat's a decent price. YES!
According to the calculator a 94 - 97 T56 on a stock tire with 2.73 at 5700rpm you will be doing 60 in first gear
In 6th gear you could be doing 319 at 5700rpm haha.

I'm thinking my driving habits might change with the 6 speed. The A4 just didn't excite me especially with 2:73s there was never a need to get on it.. It never went anywhere lolOriginally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostYoure a better man than I, my tires are generally screaming at least once everytime it comes out of the garage

If you are at the limits of your budget leave it alone. Ive heard too many horror stories with gear swaps, even from reputable shops. Do what mcalus did, find a complete 3.42 rear end... Swap it yourself, sell the old one to recover some costs, and enjoy peace of mind.Originally posted by QuickTop View PostCan anyone recommend a good shop to do this ring and pinion. For around 200?-Joel

Really. My buddies old 97 z28 was an A4 with 2.73s and that thing was a blast to drive. Very responsive, i wouldnt call it slow by any means. Best part was the 50mph burnouts you could do in firstOriginally posted by QuickTop View PostI'm thinking my driving habits might change with the 6 speed. It's not slow, but it just feels like it could put the power down better than it does. And the whole "throwing it in D and going" just doesn't work.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostReally. Eh just buy a S60. 2 more weeks and I should have mine.
Oh yeah it only costs ~3000 with a driveshaft.
