    they are one and the same Brian, but the anti-roll bars are made for drag racing and the standard sway bars are for cornering.

        not sure if this helps, but i have 3.42 gears that came out of my car. there in good shape, and ran good in the car. and i also have a complete rear end out of a 2000 Trans am A4 i am building a 8.8 so i dont need the posi or gears in it.. o yeah it only has 30,000 on the 2000 rear end. but i am not sure what gears are in the 2000 rear end.. maybe 3.23?

              They are pretty much the same. The only real difference is the drag bars are designed to be VERY stiff. I mean that they are pretty much solid and don't bend at all.

                    the drag bar vs. sway bar (anit-roll bar) is what your getting confused about. A drag bar is actually welded to the body/frame so it provides no movement, as the anit-roll bar has end links with bushings. I would love to have a drag bar on my car but they are $$$

                            I have that bar.. Haven't raced with it, but can sure feel the difference in the rear.. I can tell you W.O.T. with the anti roll bar on, the car stays level. No more torque flex. Spohn recommends welding the mounting brackets in place to avoid snapping the mount bolts off.. I have found it to be very streetable.. Also makes it much easier to turn the corners with a little tap of the throttle(you know what I mean..lol)
