between me and mike i think we two of the biggest parts whores on the site, and we bought and sold stuff to each other on the regular. so sad to here, i was shocked. i knew he had back issues but i didnt know it could lead to this. we were always shooting each other texts to see what parts we had for sale. danm. i know that his 94 has my old cage in it. i hope he got to enjoy it a few times before his passing. so sad. donation sent, feel terrible i cant stop by.

Very sad to hear i also met mike with mike a few times through parts exchanges. He even gave me the bolts i need for my sub frame at no cost even though he played hell getting them out. Very sad to hear that his back injury led to this. RIP2005 Goat - Grass fed.

Kevin brought up a good point that since Mike's passing was so unexpected, he wondered if the family had enough money to cover funeral costs and what not. I know we won't be raising thousands of dollars, but for those who donated thus far -- if we reached out to Mike's family and they say they'd prefer a donation to help with funeral costs in lieu of flowers, would you guys be OK with that? I thought it was a good point - with this being so unexpected it's not like they would ever be prepared for this.- Brian Meissen

Its very difficult to do. I screwed my back up with my detailing business and used to be a sponsor here. I still detail cars occasionally with our 4-post hoist to lift the car up to me but I still have to move very slow. Detailing was a very enjoyable hobby for me and the extra money it brought in made it even more appealing. I never even thought about my back until i pushed it too far, but what i was doing was extremely abusive to it and I wish Id known that before. I wouldnt wish back problems on my worst enemy, it has been the biggest challenge of my life. I know many people who are much worse off than me. My friend and I have been considering starting a foundation for research and awareness for back injury in young adults - both of us nuked ours in our mid 20s. Perhaps we could dedicate something to Mike when we get a fundraiser event going.Originally posted by sniperperformance View Posti better stop what im doing by pushing my back to its limits. and just today i lifted a complete 2.0 cyl tracker motor out of my trailer by myself-Joel

this is awful!
i never met mike in person, but we have had several conversations via the shoutbox. i knew he had back problems and everytime i chatted with him i would ask him how he was doing.
RIP
joel- i like your idea...i messed up my back in 3rd grade and have been dealing with issues since then. there are days up here i can't even move because of it. people need to know back issues are a serious thing.
