I have a feeling April is going to be a little rough for anyone who bought the 2011 MiFbody Calendar.

I met Doug in 1984 at a Super Chevy Sunday event in Martin, Mi. I used to see him about once each year. He will be missed.

I would ask if any other's here have a unique or special story of Doug that if you could take the time to post it up, it would be very much appreciated.

The very first thing I thought of was this:

                      Examples:

This one shows the correct way to paint the grille area. Body color around the edges (the replacement grille comes all black) So many people just replace the grille assembly and just leave it unpainted. It's like the left the edge in primer. To me, it looks as bad as if they left a door or fender unpainted. I'm simply amazed that the farther we get away from 1969, how many people don't even notice the difference!

Here's one example of what I'm talking about:

Someone obviously put a lot of time, effort and money into this car, only to miss that final detail.

                        • Doug was one of the first Mifbody members I met. Really got to know him better through our Pistons/Spartan talks on the forum. It is very sad to see such a good guy go to soon.

By far the most knowledgeable when it came to Camaro's, and I couldn't even tell you how much I have learned from him, and passed the information along to others.

RIP Doug... You will be missed.

                          • Like everyone else I still can't grasp this. I almost dropped the phone when Gary called me. Doug was a GREAT man! I wouldn't have a great bunch of friends if it wasn't for Doug and the Camaro club. I wouldn't have found this great site if it wasn't for Doug talking about it at a club meeting. I met James in coopersville at a car show and talked to him about the Camaro club,I don't know if I would have met him otherwise. I remember being at a club meeting at Berger and asking Doug if I could talk about possibly putting on a car show to raise money for my wife's lung disease foundation. He said sure,by the time I was done speaking he had the show already planned out. I could have never put it together without him and the great group of people he got me and my wife involved with. He would give me the heart to heart every time I got into a bar fight. He will be missed!! Thank you Doug for all you gave me and for introducing me to a great bunch of people. LITE EM DOUG!!

                            • I passed the news along to the Berger Chevrolet family and gave them the funeral arrangements - in their words, "He was a great guy and a wonderful friend to Berger Chevrolet and almost any Camaro owner or enthusiast...very sad to hear this, especially during the holidays."
