WMFC will be at the 7 pm visitation as a group.
Scott is in Flordia right now but will be home Sunday afternoon.

Judy and I were planning on coming for the visitation but I unfortunately am scheduled for work Sunday and Monday. My thoughts and prayer will be with Doug and his family. RIP Doug you are and will always be missed.

Angie and I are already in GR but we're going to wait until the 7pm visitation so we can have some time to unwind, shower up, etc. Stopped at the car wash on 28th street just before Paris Ave so the Trailblazer is nice and clean.

Dennis & I attended the early service - It really hit home pulling up to the Funeral Home and seeing the '74 sitting out in front of the enterance. Quite a few Camaro's in the parking lot also, past and present WMCC members not only from all over Michigan but from WI and IN also. I am sure tomorrow will be even harder

Definitely not a fun reason to get together. I was still hoping it wasn't real. My wife and I kept talking about how it didn't seem real and Doug couldn't really be gone. We were both looking forward to being able to attend more club events and shows this year and spending time with Doug. It's hard to imagine WMCC without him.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Anita and family, may the love and the grace of God provide them comfort during this time of sorrow. And may we all find peace in knowing that Doug's legacy will be last forever.

Doug was truly a one of a kind, he could befriend anybody, and obviously from the post here he did just that many times over again. I had great respect for him and admired the way he always made you feel welcomed at the WMCC events (even if you didn't own a Camaro.)

I also appreciated all the the support, and encouragement he provided us while forming the West Michigan Firebird Club. I'm going to miss having him to turn to for advice on what it takes to run a successful car club. I first met Doug in the early to mid 90's when WMCC was hosting they're car show at the Burlingame GM plant, but unfortunately it wasn't until the last few years that we truly got to know one another. Now I only wish I could go back and start that more personal friendship years earlier.

A friend and mentor like Doug can never be equalled, he'll be sorely missed........R.I.P. Doug, R.I.P. my friend!!

I would ask if any other's here have a unique or special story of Doug that if you could take the time to post it up, it would be very much appreciated.

James- One of his stories that will always stick with me is how close he was to owning a '73 Trans Am instead of his '74 Camaro. He told it to me several times, and each time I enjoyed it just like the first...........

It's always bittersweet seeing everyone at a funeral - good to see everyone again but the circumstances why we're all together again were very sad indeed. Only a couple more hours until the 1pm funeral service.

I agree...it was nice to see some of you guys I hadn't seen in awhile. What an honor it was to get to drive the 74 yesterday, even if it was just on and off the trailer a couple times.

The funeral service was really touching - a lot of us (myself included) got up and shared some stories or little bits about Doug. Only knowing Doug for a few years, it was hard to share a good story compared to all the stories from the 80's and such, but I had to share the Pet Peeves thread and how - out of all the things everyone else came up as their pet peeves, Doug's pet peeve was leaving the grill recess on the first gens unpainted. Such a great guy gone too soon - seeing Anita today I really felt awful for her, I hope her healing has already started.
