I heard the bad new earlier while I was at work, sure took the spark out of my day. I just read the 8 pages of posts with a few tears in my eyes, and its repeated so many times how Doug made everyone including myself feel we were friends forever. He truly was a special person and will be missed and always remembered. I like the suggestion of the trophy in Dougs name.

A few of Dougs' "WMCC Family" got together this evening to help with some of the arrangements. It is a very difficult time for all. I just wanted to say thank you everyone for the kind words and support during this very difficult time. Doug was an incredible human being and his legacy will live on in the Camaro Community forever.

Thanks Everyone for all your thoughts and Prayers, I will be sure to pass them on to the Warren family.
This is the email that was sent out earlier today. I think it is only fitting that I post it here. I would also Like to Thank Carrie Hoffman for helping me write it.
Hi everyone,
So, as many of you may know, and for those of you who may not, I regret to inform you that Doug Warren – President of WMCC – unexpectedly passed away this morning. Doug has been a loved friend and a well known Camaro enthusiast for many years. He’s organized several events and leaves us with memories of car shows from the past in addition to several other memories we continue to cherish. Below you will find a copy of his obituary, or you can view the link below for further information. As shown on the funeral home’s website, there is a page to send your condolences by signing the guest book and sharing your most valued memory. I encourage everyone to take the time to leave that valued memory.

I never met him, but I guess he's part of the reason I became a part of the Michigan F-Body Association. He sold that '94 V6 to Nate, who sold it to me, which brought me to this community. Thank you, Doug.
This sounds like a great idea to me. A fitting tribute.Originally posted by ktl711 View PostMaybe it's too early to talk about what we could do to make sure that Doug's contribution to our Camaro culture is properly memorialized, but maybe we could create a trophy named for him and present it each year at the spring Meet & Greet to the most original or most factory authentic restoration of a 1st through 4th Gen Camaro, or to the best Berger edition Camaro.

Doug was a great guy, he was the definition of a "Camaro Junkie", and he was essentially a walking dictionary for all things Camaro. I only had the privilege of meeting him a handful of times over the years, but he had a way with people. Even if it was the first time you were talking to him, he had a way of making you feel like you had known each other for years. I'll never forget the times I spent with him, although brief, he was a very inspirational person, and overall, an amazing human being. He will be sorely missed.
Rest in Peace, Doug.Nick H.

I have stopped crying and I now have a few words:
Though I only briefly met him in person, we did have several conversations on the forum. Myself being a guitarist/musician, I enjoyed talking with Doug about great guitar players and great music. We both shared an appreciation for the highly skilled musicians that the general public may not be familiar with.
I was also amazed with his encyclopedic knowledge of cars, particularly the Camaro. I remember posting pictures from a car auction I went to, and he was pointing out LOTS of original impurities of the cars that I never would have noticed. I learned a lot from reading his input.
Doug and Jeff (81DaytonaPaceCar) were the one's who recommended the movie Gumball Rally to me, and I now own that movie because of it!
I like the idea of having an award at the M&G in honor of Doug and proceeds going to charity. I think that would be a great way to honor and remember him. Rest in Peace Doug, we will miss you very much.
