Well spoke to the owner before me and he swears that the car is from Alabama and the rims and exterior he and a friend painted, but all I said was, that's a funny coincident then cause of the name badge may have some significant meaning to the car, so I will be finding out how to get that report and see for sure

thanks a ton scott, I am going to contact the guy at PHS and see what I can get, the only thing I found under the carpet was WATER AND RUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I should have checked the floors better, there is a fist sized hole under the drivers feet area and behind the seat it was starting, so gonna replace some of that later, for now, clean it, paint it and cover it over with some 1/8 inch aluminum plate and rivet it down for this year.. but no build sheet and if it would have been there I would have shit cause it would need deciphering from someone who can read water damaged paper

I snapped a few more pics of the car, under hood and what not..

alas scott I had moved back to Niles where I could get work againwont be moving back that way anytime soon, staying put and relaxing some, oh and building cars, lol
but I do still wanna come meet ya in person and see your fleet..

there is alot that is good about this car but it will take sometime, but I am DRIVING it this year so help me..

checked out PHS prices, not bad, will be doing that VERY soon, also he asks for alot of info I dont have should I call and discuss it with them?

i will post the pics in a bit...

My pleasure Jess, like Jeff I get a kick out of researching this kind of stuff.

No real surprise that you didn't find a build sheet, especially if someone else has already removed the carpet or as it sounds been water logged. The build sheet for my 15th Annv project car was under the drivers side front but had decayed to the point that had become one with the floorboard itself. The best I could do was photo what left and decipher a few of the codes.

Sorry to hear about the floors, sounds like they're rusted in the common areas as most third gens. Yep, seal them up for now then get out there and enjoy owning a F-body again.

Are or were there any other deLongpre badges on the car?? Or was it only on the console that you found that?

As far as PHS, it's worth a call to them. They should be able to work you through the ordering process. Really the only information they need is you name, addr, ect., and the vehicles VIN. So it should be fairly easy. The kit cost $65 dollars, but it will include a lot of useful information.

Good luck, and yes more pics, more pics!!

ok guys i need some help on a few tpi issues, I REALLY want the car to use the TPI for now, so I changed the regulator and it fired right up and ran great, adjusted the fuel pressure and it ran even better, now I cannot get it to restart even with starting fluid, it will run a second then die, yes I am putting more fuel in, but this car will not start off a normal starting procedure, so can anyone suggest things to check out please, I am really baffled.. also I have a mac scanner for obd 1 & 2 and it will not connect to the computer/ecm, again could use some help..thanks if there is another area that this would get more attention in please let me know

yes the fuel pump runs and runs and runs.... I never hear it cycle like I would on other cars, I thought when it built up enough pressure it should shut off and only come back when it called for more pressure..
I have driven the car, started it many times and heard it run alot at home but since we changed the regulator alot less running is going on and its set at 41 psi

I also found I still have a ton of moisture in the car under the dash so I might just pull the dash and replace the WHOLE inside wiring harness with a new computer.. cause I know the car runs and drives, also if I hadnt mentioned it my scanner will not connect to the ecm..

ok guys need some help now, starting to get a little ticked off now..

Ok, I bought a dehumidifier and got alot more water out of the car, very dry inside now, but still having massive issues getting it to start, will not start on its own without a squirt of ether, I changed the fuel regulator as I said, psi is spot on, I am ready to swap out a computer next, this will not even let me hook my scanner to it,says unreadable..

I need some ideas to find this issue please!!!!!

Plugged cold start injector or bad cold start thermal switch

Edit: I assumed it's a TPI, TBI doesn't use this setup.

on the very front of the intake there should be a CTS (blue arrow) and a cold start switch (red arrow). When the engine is cold, ohm the two pins. It should have very little or no resistance.

                                CTS_and_CSI_swith_location.jpg

The injector is located on the driver side of the intake, between the two sets of runners. It is fed by the rear of the rail.
