Went to Michigan International Speedway and watched Dale Jr put a butt whipping on the field so not much was done to the car. I did get the motor and transmission out and on the floor before I left on Sat.

Just stumbled upon this thread myself.. Looks pretty awesome! I'm debating on going SB 400 or LS based truck motor (LQ4,LQ9). My Dad is an old school hot rod guy, he wants me to go with a carb. Let me know how that TPI set up works. The TPI parts are still pretty easy to find right? Very cool build!

Stock TPI stuff can be found all over but it will barely support a stock 350 above 4500rpm. Aftermarket stuff will be needed to make a 400 breath, and it isn't cheap. I have about $750 just into my Accel base and SLP runners...FIRST stuff was quite a bit more when I last checked but it is a very very nice setup.

Thanks Michael! I guess the planning stage is nice for that reason. Trying to stay as cost effective as possible over here. Over all I would like to stay with some sort of an injection set up if we go 400. My Dad will be the one building it.. Not much of a mechanic here. He is pushing the carb because of simplicity. I want injection because of drive ability and fuel mileage. I was looking into a ram jet set up and it wasn't very cheap either.
