That's not my motor in the picture. That's the motor the setup came off of. I got some pics coming saturday they're gonna make me wish I had clear valve covers.

Its a Jones Racing Serpentine setup that was custom made. The guy I bought it from made it for his TBI motor thats in the pic I posted. He did some quality machining and fab work to make the setup. Search Jones racing in Summit to see the setups they sell I was blown away at there prices. I didn't pay anything near what summit wants for the Jones racing serpentine setups.

They are almost too pretty to put valve covers over. Brand New, T&D shaft mount setup. Custom Anodized to Red/Black.

Why didn't you use an aftermarket block? I wouldnt trust a 400 block especially with the more stroke going to it. 4 bolts are even weaker than 2 bolts. I would of started with a 2 bolt main then had aftermarket caps installed to splay the outer bolts.

The 4 bolt mains have a thinner web casting on the bottom of the cylinders than the 2 bolt mains. 2 bolt main with splayed outers would be twice as good. Just my opinion but I would do some research if I was you. Kind of expensive parts to be throwing in a stock block.

This is very debatable because a lot of people say the exact opposite.

Also this is an old school iron block. Much much stronger than a aluminum block. I would trust a 400 iron block to push way more then a LS aluminum block. A 2 bolt can push some pretty crazy numbers, let alone having a 4 bolt.

Yes a stock 4 bolt is stronger than a 2 bolt but a stock 2 bolt block splayed is way stronger than a stock 4 bolt block.

Aluminum block weaker? Idk wouldn't say that's a very good argument. Idk be more comfortable taking a aluminum LS block to higher power levels than a stock 400 block.

There has been lots of discussion in splayed vs straight.

Ever notice why a LSx block is iron? Iron blocks will hold more power. Aluminum is a softer metal.

Plus you can overbore a iron block more then an aluminum block.

Debate on splayed. Did you ever notice toeing a nail is not as strong a nail that is straight?
