Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Ok so this wannabe-stalling thing, I thought I was gonna die on the way to work this morning. I was going about 75 and my car stopped accelerating. I started pumping the gas pedal hard and fast until finally it acceleated. That was super scary, it's never done that before so I think it's getting worse. I bought a new TPS last night, I'm going to install it tonight along with an O2 sensor.
I WANT NOISE! SPEED! AN ENGINE THAT SHAKES MY INTERNAL ORGANS LIKE THEY GOT PARKINSON'S! I DONT WANT AN ENGINE THAT IS PARTIALLY POWERED BY MY LAPTOP BATTERY!

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.
Here is an update from robin. It is still not fixed
"We replaced the O2 sensor and attempted the TPS, but the one I bought was defective. Kyle's going to try getting them to exchange it. My car is still acting up. Dropping RPMs acting like it's going to stall when the pedal is in a certain position. It's the same position every time, and I can make it do it. If I accelerate from a stop only to get up to about 15mph, it stalls. I tried pumping the gas pedal, but it doesn't work. If I accellerate from a stop to get up to about 40mph it acts like it's going to stall - the RPMs drop and speed drops, but if I just hold my foot there it will eventually correct itself in a few seconds. Sometimes I have to pump the gas to get it to accelerate again. At higher speeds like 70 on the highway I have to pump the gas hard and a lot - it's really scary."
IMO..take it to a Shop that know what they're doing .In other words ,make a living at it ,have ALL the testers etc.. Process of illimination mechancis can get to be expensive ...

Well I Had my DVOM with me at dawgs last night and I checked robin's tps sensor through its full range. I never saw any drop in voltage when I was slowly opening up the throttle, so the tps is fine. I am buying a fuel pressure guage later today and will be bringing it to dawgs. I believe its a fuel related issue. I heard her car run, when it runs fine it has no problem, The idle is smooth, I hear no vacuum leak at all, She did replace one of her fuel injectors last year so the rest of them may not be working great. The one new one is spraying a better fuel pattern than the rest I know that for sure, But it also may be that her fuel pump is going out.
I know it may sound like a crazy question but have you considered changing the gas cap? I had a problem a couple years ago and all I needed was a new gas cap.
A bad gas cap would not cause the car to stall. The evap control systems on an OBD1 car is almost useless exept for purging gas vapors from the tank to relieve pressure. Even in an OBD2 car a bad gas cap would not cause the car to stall. It would cause the "check gas cap" light to come on or if it doesn't have that light the check engine light would come on for a evap leak small meduim or large leak.
